not this time, the -really- small venues won out and here we went to see zita swoon at house 139... a concert that would be worth talking about, by the way...

maybe you meant the evergreen "No Surprises" ;) for me, the sold-out came too soon, but I'm not so disappointed this time, especially now that I read what you write about it… I believe that a small space suits a music like hers better; let's hope she hasn’t already turned it into just a job…

I only find the first one memorable; the rest seems pleasant but never quite as intense. Here, from the unabashed pop effectiveness of "beautiful ones," we move to a "saturday night" that drops to Sanremo levels...

great catch, definitely a superior album to the mentioned man, with the collaboration of some of the later portishead in ain't gone under yet... but it's move with me that's the best, also available in an excellent dub version in the soundtrack of until the end of the world by wenders... well done pourquoipas!

The Cure Join The Dots: B-Sides And Rarities 1978-2001

great review, excellent appetizer of the album, I really appreciated the rich booklet, the songs are presented with backstories and contexts that are never trivial and not annoyingly self-congratulatory.
it's definitely a product for fans, but the quality of these b-sides is often really noteworthy (new day and chain of flowers above all), even though the chronological sequence of the songs and the number of fillers piled towards the end (remixes and collaborations, unreleased from greatest hits) further highlight the downward trajectory of the band much more than the official releases... I would probably now opt for the "deluxe" versions of the first albums...
