I agree that this review is aimed at insiders or deep admirers of the ethereal blond Sylvian and his crew (including Zazou, Sakamoto, Bowie, and Japan), and I concur that this is an overly introspective and celebratory album, somewhat challenging and a bit boring, yes... However, Sylvian remains a sacred monster of professionalism and skill, and I think there's nothing wrong with admitting that to oneself and, above all, to others. I really like the review; it's well written, critical, and offers insights. But from what everyone seems to say about his work, it seems to me that Sylvian is somewhat underrated, and in this regard, I agree with Kosmo just to change it up a bit... For example, the penultimate work that no one has mentioned, "Dead bees on a cake," is stunning; it's a mature work even where it's repetitive, following a line of COHERENCE that Sylvian has never abandoned. If he imitates the Duke, perhaps it's for the style and the look, certainly not in the music or the content. Sylvian can be experimental (collaborations with Fripp, Czukay, Isham, Budd, Sakamoto, Zazou, etc.), can be almost pop (Japan), can be new wave (Brilliant trees), and I could go on with the list... he's complete, absolutely a versatile and refined artist. I don't know, I love his voice madly, his albums, his arpeggios, and orchestrations... For me, there's no arguing about it; you accept him as he is, you love him for what he is, and you endure it when it’s like in Blemish, which I listen to very rarely, by the way. So, it’s true everything that is said about this work, but Sylvian is untouchable and perfect... At least, that’s how I see it. Hello everyone.

This is how it is.. Perhaps it will be a vote skewed by love for an artist who left us too soon, before he could properly finish his work and with it this album, which thus comes off as unripe, a bit rougher (the day before his death, Jeff had expressed his intention to re-record all the pieces with a different arrangement), less perfect than the previous Masterpiece. BUT precisely for this reason it is truly a very emotional and moving album, and I fully agree with the choice of Opened Once as the emblem of the cd and the period of our little sprite.. I have never cried for the loss of a singer, despite feeling regret and strong empathy, except for that day in May '98; I am sure he would have written much more music that could give me chills, and this gives me a huge "regret." Thank you, Marcmat, for wanting to talk about it. From the heart.

Kosmo, what the hell are you saying, it’s written beautifully, as always.. I don’t know them, but I’m afraid I’ll like them a lot, and I use the word afraid because I'm lacking in that department. What do you think Hal, do I like them? A friend of mine spoke very highly of them years ago.. I think he was right. What do they resemble? Nothing? okay...

Fosca has been here, even though I reiterate, this genre is not my absolute passion... But you are quite good at it. MMuuuaahhhh! A kiss.

I don't know the CD in question, but the review is very nice. I only have 2 of Di Franco's albums, which I adore. I like her; she is unlike anyone else, she is genuine, incredibly talented, theatrical, ironic, has a great voice, and plays like a pro! And she’s beautiful too!! "ano di Frocio" is almost like that of the beech tree..

An Englishman told me it means "my damn Valentine's wishes" where VALENTINE refers to the card that is sent in the UK on 14/02.

I had promised myself to give a more thoughtful opinion after more serious and prolonged listening: from my last comment about 40 days have passed during which this album has been present in one way or another: in fact, I discovered that it conveys and expresses much more than I initially believed, and with each listen, it engages me more. Tracks like the Same Mistakes, New Toys, and Blind Pilots literally drive me crazy.. I don't know how they were before; some have told me they were definitely better than now. What I do know is that this is currently among my favorite CDs, and soon I will also get the previous one. A kiss to everyone.
