Can I completely skip Nightwalker? Thanks. Grumpy reaction, yes. Faced with the zero-value comments that add NOTHING to the discussion and become insolent, I actually get angry because I find them totally useless and far too easy. It’s just as easy to shoot down without adding any content other than sterile and empty controversy, like those who promote it. Instead, it's difficult to find and truly appreciate someone like you, who engages with arguments worthy of the name, for dialogue, to which I love to join and participate. And above all, to explain. As I mentioned, I am definitely a connoisseur of the rock matrix of music, but I practically have all of Metheny's albums. As I said, I’m a guitarist (not just rock, but with a classical background) and I love all the music written to showcase THIS instrument. I’m not sure what the genre that inspired the piece "Offramp" is called exactly, but I don’t think it can be defined as fusion in the most obvious and narrow sense of the term, or perhaps as I understand it, with those smooth sounds typical of the more languid productions of its devotees; so I do know - on the contrary - that I love the OTHER genre of Metheny, the one from "As Falls Wichita..", "New Chautaqua", "The First Circle," and "Last Train Home," etc., which seems to completely deviate from the sound of the piece in question. The virtuosity of that piece fascinates me from a guitar perspective but doesn’t resonate with me like "Au Lait" or of course "Are You Going With Me?"... Did I make myself clear? Thank you, Antonio.

Oh my gosh, how much I've loved this album... I've listened to it so much that I can hardly listen to it now...

Ah, nightwalker, here’s a critical, constructive, and especially useful comment! .... For me, Metheny is not only one of the most important contemporary jazz musicians, but perhaps the best of all, at least in terms of MY musical taste, without bringing up Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, DeJohnette, or whoever.. And talking about my culture and my musical taste, (which you don’t know a blessed thing about) it doesn’t make sense to decree in this way, as you do. Either you provide a foundation for your criticisms by explaining them, or you go out walking at night, but away from here.... Cheers.

But... will you beat me if I tell you that the latest one means nothing to me?

Oh my goodness, what an album! Back in the day, I wore out the grooves of the vinyl ridiculously from playing it so much! I instead bought it on CD exactly a year ago because YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE IT in your collection... Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful like very few others. To that list from that time, among my obsessive listens, I add the first from Tikaram, Chapman, and Toni Childs... As Cleo would say, nostalgia canaglia...
