Guys, it seems to me that both the review and the judgment on the album in question are quite understated. This album by XTC is nothing short of brilliant, despite its rather unfortunate history, starting with the crazy cut from double vinyl to single disc, sacrificing more than a few original tracks and the difficulty (lasting for years) in finding the original format of the work, (which was also the fate of the subsequent CD reissue). In this early 80s work by our Estasiati, you will find traces of past and future works from bands like Police, something even from Pink Floyd, not to mention the Beatles as always, but nevertheless this CD (along with Drums & Wires) is an absolute gem and fully represents the new wave spirit of the time, and it is the pinnacle since from here on their works will become increasingly refined and elegant, almost at the expense of that characteristic "roughness" typical of the wave. In short, this is at least a four and a half star album!!!!!!!! Come on.....

Or rather, on vinyl the legendary SIDE 2?... Yes, the beginning with those 4 introductory notes completely melts me, and then it all begins.... Magnificent.

Hi Kosmina.... every now and then I reread your stuff too (for example, lately I’ve been in a Killing Joke revival phase). A kiss

I believe that the collaboration between the two (which we find in Plight & Premonition if I'm not mistaken) has produced works that are among the masterpieces of the 90s, and this album in particular is of such beauty that it leaves you awestruck and experiences Stendhal syndrome. Describing this musical current, this flow that passes from the speakers of the stereo directly into the veins through the heart, is no easy task. Besides the discussion on Sylvian's personal characteristics (which I find undeniable, and one only needs to listen to his music to agree), you have fully succeeded. This record, for me, is among the cornerstones of my vinyl discography: question -> is it easily found on CD? I downloaded it from the internet but I want the original... Well done M.E.

FIDIIIIIAAAAAAA!!!!! ...you leave me more and more astonished! Beautiful review and what a gorgeous album that I bought on vinyl back in the day and listened to until I was fed up: Adorations is one of my favorite songs from the eighties and my favorite from the album with that initial reverb of the riff and the steady drumming like a diesel, building up... Also, Sanity and Love of the Masses are among the gems. Goodness, what are you going to pull out of the hat next?? It’s a pleasure for us too to read you and have you on these electronic pages.
