Here’s what I wanted to tell you: I think that PF are one of the groups that have the least to do with progressive, but in fact I said "universally recognized," not "that I think are the most important progressive group." It's everyone else who thinks this! :)

Honestly, there was room for other considerations and examples of this Meid In Giapan. Which is fantastic..

@jakechambers: sure, if you feed him "on the run" or "echoes" he’ll turn into a junkie.. ;) @OleEinar: hmm... yeah, I’m pretty sure.. @Arnold: you’re not convinced?

Great album yes (4.5), but the connection with Zappa is really unknown to me... Few comments, right?

The fact is that they are tremendously different... This is pure youthful madness, Rock Bottom is an "adult" album, understood as being composed by someone who is already grown up. Perhaps his accident has made him more "old" in relation to life: listening to it gives me this impression...
Robert Wyatt Shleep

Great disc. However, what left me too pleased is the play on words that echoes the title. On the back of "Shleep," it says "Fat chance to dream" - a clear reference to the Shakespearean lines: "To die, to SLEEP, PERCHANCE TO DREAM." Always brilliant, Robert.

I misspoke: "Rck Bottom" is easier to listen to in terms of melodies and everything else, but I can't grasp the much-praised magic of it until today, while the magic of "The End of an Ear" is crystal clear to me: a truly fantastic album and a testament to an unparalleled compositional genius in the genre.

@commentators: I didn't mean to accuse your passion for Canterbury (as it is for me), but we have to admit that we are few... And I regret that.

I've ended up here again... When I wrote the comment, I didn't know Canterbury, go figure... It's been a while, and I can confidently say that this is Wyatt's masterpiece (Rock Bottom still doesn’t click with me... I find it difficult). See you soon.
