Ocram, beautiful review, it's a shame I have different tastes! I should mention that I've only recently gotten into folk-metal, but among the three bands you mentioned - Korpiklaani, Finntroll, and Trollfest, I have to say I much prefer the former, even though they are "emulators" or "copycats" as you say. Trollfest have indeed done some brilliant things (the closing track is extraordinary :) ) but I don't agree with the use of screaming, to which I can only add the simple term "ugly"... at times it’s annoying! The drumming is also really inappropriate at times. As for Finntroll, they may be the masters of the genre… but the same can be said for them. I have never liked growling or screaming paired with folk melodies, so for me Korpiklaani is much better, whose singer has a "cleaner" voice. In any case, I don't doubt the creativity and wildness (?) of the other two bands!

Oh my God! 4 stars for Carboni? "the genius" of Vasco? Alright, I agree with the Punisher: "This review seems all crafted to defend a thin, thin thesis," but because of this, the 3 for the review seems excessive to me!

@Know-it-all: it was when I started listening to them seriously that I truly understood their low level!!! Previously, I can even tell you that I listened to them with pleasure; by "refining" my ear, I really understood who they were: a group of fake misfits and awful "recyclers" of good music (recycling without the addition of original and/or personal elements, mind you)... Axl Rose was and is simply a figure that calling ridiculous would be an understatement, not to mention the old extraordinary lyrics à la GnR filled with misogyny and homophobia. but please
