"the call of Cthulu" either it’s named or it isn’t... AND IF IT IS MENTIONED, IT SHOULD BE DONE PROPERLY! Just throwing in an adjective ("instrumental"... -.-') in one little line doesn’t cut it!

I echo Fidia and Bartleboom... enough with these pseudo-intellectual reviews! There are many other people who review excellently and with refinement, without resorting to "baroque" and redundant expressions. In fact, these tricks (phrases with fancy words) are usually used only by those who actually don’t have a good grasp of what they want to talk about or to confuse readers. Well... that's not okay!

But do these black groups always use the same font for titles or logos on their covers? :) I think it can be found under the Old English setting in Word. Starting tomorrow, everyone will be drawing black covers.

When will Iron Maiden be able to release an album with decent artwork? It will surely be too late!

But let’s consider the charismatic figure, him, Axl Rose!! Is it even credible for a man who attempts (mind you, attempts!) to sing, offering a terrible mix of the “vocal styles” of Steven Tyler and Brian Johnson? A truly ridiculous copycat! Pseudo-hoarseness, pseudo-falsettos... pseudo-voice, in short! And shall we take into account the lyrics of Guns 'n' Roses? Attacks on gay people? An attitude of superiority towards women? I think there's a note missing regarding the type of music: some call it metal (hahahaha), others hard rock (muahahaha), but in truth, I doubt they even knew what they were playing, given the endless sources they were drawing from, obviously copying everything (as if that was a surprise!). Ah... for how many centuries has Axl Rose been promising the release of Chinese Democracy? A man with a purpose!

Well, if you took a look at the lyrics of Angel of Death, you would read that Dr. Mengele (I think that was his name), who "operated" in Auschwitz and inspired the song, is referred to as an "infamous butcher" or something like that... so it doesn't seem to me there's such a pro-Nazi sentiment. Satanism, on the other hand, is a different matter, and frankly, although I have always respected them from a purely musical standpoint (I mean, I love thrash), it cannot be said the same from a "human" point of view, shall we call it that. The lyrics are EVIDENTLY inspired by Satanism, as are their stage setups in live performances, but one might wonder if it's really admirable for a band to proclaim things they don't believe in, just for the sake of show and image. That's what has always bothered me a bit about Slayer, an attitude that sometimes feels too childish. The album, however, is a milestone; that is beyond question! One last note: regarding Death SS, I don’t think there were any misunderstandings, since it was clear to everyone from the beginning that it was about "in Death of Steve Sylvester" (if I'm not mistaken, declared by them themselves in the early days)... but maybe I'm wrong.

Now and forever, Manowar PITIFUL and MISERABLE clowns! Good review, I would give you a 4 if it weren't for the fact that you've stated several things that don't come even close to my "musical vision." Ah... are the great "defenders of steel" really that great? Or more like a bunch of poor souls? We'll never know until we live!
