Great album, I adore The National, ever since their second album "Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers" (the title says it all). So beautiful, and the review is lovely, where you also mentioned I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness.

Great review, maybe you’re being a bit too critical of the film (not exceptional, but not bad either), but here we’re talking about music, so that’s all good! :) Two anecdotes: the part of Matt Dillon was initially meant for Cornell, who, evidently, wasn’t great at acting. Another thing: Dillon’s clothes in the film were lent to him by Jeff Ament (bassist of Pearl Jam).

I'm going against the tide: I really like this CD. I confess my ignorance in not knowing who he was and only knowing the father by name, but these are soft and pleasant songs. I immediately placed it alongside Maria Taylor's CD among the relaxing and whispered ones! PS: Nick! If you happen to come across this page, give it a listen; you might like it!
