The Clash Give 'Em Enough Rope
Voto:
Not exactly on par with the first "The Clash" or the wonderful "London Calling," let's say it's somewhat of a middle ground. Still, the cover alone is worth a 5. So, averaging it out, we come to a 3.5. Let's say 4 and we're all happy.
Radiohead Amnesiac
Voto:
It’s part of the best works of Radiohead, even though I liked the previous "Ok Computer" and "Kid A," truth be told, a little bit more. Still, here are at least twenty musical lessons that, especially for the new generations, should be learned by heart.
Radiohead Kid A
Voto:
A masterpiece, like almost all of those by Radiohead.
Genesis Foxtrot
Voto:
Beautiful, the (unmatched) pinnacle of Genesis. Nothing compared to "Selling England" or "The Lamb," both beautiful but less cohesive and compact, perhaps more pretentious. Here lies perfection in its noblest form, with that long "Supper's Ready" (first slow, then fast, first pop, then prog) which is worth an entire career.
Alberto Radius Radius
Voto:
I totally agree with Pier Paolo Farina; comparing, or making comparisons, between Radius and Hendrix is like comparing Korn to Manzoni—there's an abyss. I've listened to him very little, but he doesn't seem like a great guitarist to me, rather a good musician, like many we had in the past, and who perhaps excels more than everyone else today because there is, alas, a shortage of artists with a capital A. His recent appearance on TV at Rai, on a commemorative little program presented by that boiled fish Carlo Conti, still had quite an effect on me, let's say a bit of pity. From Battisti to Conti: it’s really true that the Darwinian theory of evolution is just a big hoax.
Tracy Chapman Tracy Chapman
Voto:
Absolutely brilliant. But what happened to Chapman?
Nirvana Nevermind
Voto:
I am perplexed.
Oasis Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants
Voto:
After 4 albums, Oasis were already well past their prime. What a sadness.
Pooh - La Nazionale Italiana Di Calcio Cuore Azzurro
Voto:
Horrible song (what do you expect from today’s Pooh?) but it's true that that great goal by Materazzi and the penalties, I don't remember in which order, by De Rossi, Pirlo, Materazzi, Del Piero, and Grosso are truly unforgettable. Then they beat us 3-1, but when it really mattered, we were there.
David Bowie Hunky Dory
Voto:
Simply eternal.
