I say it and I repeat it: my favorite Genesis album. A great prog record, modern and cutting-edge. Sorry, but I prefer this to "Selling England By The Pound" and "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway." Maybe it's less mature but much more evocative. Mediocre review.

Prophecy one of the best?! Bah… I like this one more, even if we have to admit that Max, as important as he has been for the metal scene and still retains his charisma, is becoming a bit repetitive. Who knows, maybe the Cavalera duo will make us dream again!

Hetzer, with all due respect, I disagree. It seems to me that you like old prog: do you find it to be happy and carefree music? King Crimson, Van Der Graaf, and the like, whom I also really enjoy, don't seem depressing enough to you? "I'm on the outside/ Looking inside/ What do I see?/ Much confusion/ Disillusion/ All around me" just to give you one of the countless examples...

Deplorable review. If you can't find the words to describe an album, then spare yourself the trouble rather than throwing down two useless lines. I think it's the best of Tool.

In my opinion, the best. Flawless from an emotional standpoint: far from the cloying naivety of "From Genesis To Revelation" (I’ve never managed to listen to it all!) yet balanced and enjoyable in its complexity. The subsequent albums will be more representative of the Genesis style, but as interesting and original as they are, I sometimes find them a bit too theatrical and challenging. This, however, is truly a great album, infused with the progressive magic of the period yet so damn modern: Phil Collins' double bass in "The Musical Box" and Hackett's guitar intro in "The Return Of The Giant Hogweed" have taught a few things to metal. Truly commendable, I regret that it sometimes doesn't receive the recognition it deserves.

The review is superfluous like most of the duplicates here, but this first album by RATM is one of the best rock records of the '90s. If you’re conservative like DaveJon, who thinks all music from the last 30 years is shit, then it makes sense that this album wouldn’t appeal to you. I also partially agree with those who criticize the group’s authenticity: it might be true for Morello and his crew who are raking in billions with Audioslave, but Zack De La Rocha has stepped away from the music scene to become an activist. Personally, I don’t listen to them much anymore, but this album deserves the utmost respect.

Killgod fuck off! You suck! DaveJon, I still believe that Waters and Gilmour were complementary. I remind you that many harmonies that you seem to credit to David were actually written by Roger... That Dave rendered them in the best possible way with his unmistakable touch is a fact, but reread the credits you yourself quoted. This album is also a work almost entirely written by Waters, and what a work, damn!
