Akira Toriyama Dragon Ball
Voto:
It may be a milestone in comics, but I've never been able to stomach Dragon Ball. I’ve always found it too superficial, with a storyline worth little, especially when it comes to the Z series. At least the first one was light and fun, but then it all boils down to "I want to become stronger/conquer the world." Not to mention characters with zero psychological introspection and an annoying, plasticky, and aesthetically unpleasant art style (Vegeta offends my sensibilities).
Michael Jackson Off The Wall

I don't agree with the idea that artists like Madonna (especially her, in terms of "iconicity") and Prince are a step behind Michael. We have to acknowledge Madonna, for example, for still being fully in the spotlight. However, it seems to me that the hype surrounding Michael's death is already beginning to fade. Too quickly, perhaps. After all, he had already died figuratively years ago.
Albert Camus Lo Straniero
Voto:
An undoubtedly important book, but I did not appreciate either the deliberately dry and aseptic style or the pessimistic message.
Fabrizio Moro Barabba
Voto:
A character that irritates me for being so pathetic, whiny, and pessimistic, as well as mentally unstable.
Tori Amos The Beekeeper
Voto:
A more sunny and relaxed album compared to previous ones. Therefore, one must wait to overcome the shock of this change in direction to truly appreciate it. I find the warm and tropical atmospheres delightful, infused with the dense sound of the accordion. There are many striking songs, including some of the more quirky ones in Tori Amos's repertoire like "Ireland," while others are more vague but provide pleasant moments of relaxation between more substantial tracks. It's an album to listen to also for the quality and richness of the sounds, filled with colors and images. Of course, we are far from the darkness of "from the choirgirl hotel" and the "American" atmospheres of "scarlet's walk," but it doesn't seem to me to be a superficial album.

I had completely forgotten that I had already commented. Yesterday I listened to the album again, so I wanted to see what people were saying about it...Sorry.
Tori Amos Abnormally Attracted to Sin
Voto:
Listening to it more closely, this album isn't bad at all, even if there's just a tad too much polish. I'm happy that even with just the piano at her disposal, like in "Ophelia," Tori still feels perfectly at home. I like the idea of the visualettes. I always enjoy associating images with music.

Heart of gold faithful to the original? But it practically turned a folk ballad into a (perfectly successful) chaos of swirling guitars and manic choirs?
Lady GaGa The Fame
Voto:
Listening closely, this album deserves a complete reassessment. Very clever, yet well-crafted and engaging. Frivolous and at the same time intelligent. However, I don't understand where and when Lady Gaga drew from Bowie and Queen as she claims. Perhaps in "summerboy" there’s an echo of "sound and vision," but nothing more.
Yosif still commented on the American version. The Italian one also includes a tasty bonus track, "disco heaven." The title says it all.

Really? I've noticed the same variety of instruments (keyboards of all kinds, accordions, guitars, normal and digital drums, various percussion,...) and sensual, colorful atmospheres in stark contrast with the greyness of American doll posse. Perhaps there’s a lack of intent to communicate something, which was more present in beekeeper.
