Gian Lorenzo Bernini Sepolcro di Urbano VIII
Voto:
The work is stunning, but Bernini was one of the most paid sycophants. In short, Urban certainly didn't deserve such a beautiful tomb.
CocoRosie Grey Oceans

I really enjoyed this album because Cocorosie have definitely gotten back on track after the previous one, which was still good but a bit flat. I appreciated the quality of the sounds, crucial for them since their songs rely not so much on the atmosphere they evoke but more on the landscape. The use of the piano is also very interesting, entirely original.
Roxette Don't Bore Us - Get To The Chorus! Roxette's Greatest Hits

Fantastic. I still appreciate them. I confess with a bit of shame that "sleeping in my car" was my first, let's say, rebellious song.
Luciano Ligabue Arrivederci, mostro!
Voto:
Oh well, I just ignore him because in my opinion he makes really bland and monotonous music. Too bad, because he seems like a nice person.
David Bowie Tonight
Voto:
Listened to it just yesterday. I expected much worse. It must be said that it's a very frivolous album, unlike Let's Dance, which is an album that hides decadence behind the veneer of dance. Strangely, for an album from the 80s, there are very few synthesizers, and the sound is always very warm, never sterile. Well, the marimbas and the trumpets might raise an eyebrow, but in the end, this album is almost a concept. Listening to it feels like being in a ballroom for Latin American dances.
In conclusion, it's a minor work, more than minor for David Bowie, but still enjoyable and quite successful in its own way. Obviously, if compared to stuff like Heroes or Aladdin Sane, it gets incinerated.
Hole Nobody's Daughter

This album is truly wonderful. I really appreciated the well-crafted sound, never too metallic, and Courtney's voice, perhaps a bit more weary due to age and drug use, but touching like never before. Moreover, this isn't just a trivial nostalgia trip. On the contrary, the songs express emotions and can still be playful at the venerable age of 45. A very welcome return.

@Panapp.
Yeah, they could have released a collection from the 2000s and then, maybe a few years later, publish a box set with all three collections.

Unfortunately, some songs are missing that would have made their mark, like Give It 2 Me. And the video remix of Celebration is far better.
Madonna Bedtime Stories
Voto:
Discontinuous, certainly, but full of gems. Especially in the second part, where there is a real escalation of quality. From the velvety Forbidden Love, passing through the retro and rarefied atmospheres of Love Tried To Welcome Me. Then there's Sanctuary, one of my favorite tracks by Madonna, enigmatic and poetic, Bedtime Story, and the ballad Take a Bow.

I almost agree with everything. In my opinion, there are some songs that feel a bit tired, like Thief of Hearts, with its too rudimentary arrangements, or In This Life, which is touching but a bit flat. Aside from that, there are some truly interesting moments. I love the spoken parts of Waiting, the boudoir atmosphere of Where Life Begins, the rhythm of Deeper and Deeper, and the edginess of Erotica. An album that is definitely a product of its time. It could only have been released in the '90s.
