Fine Before You Came Ormai

I haven't listened to this yet, and right now I'm not really in the mood to do so, it's a matter of taste. Anyway, they might not have invented anything, but Sfortuna is a nice album for me. The lyrics are indeed embarrassing at certain points ("...you never pass by"), but placed in the context, both musical and "conceptual" (I'm not sure, but I believe the album tells some sort of personal story), they work great. I watched the live videos from Miami and I didn't like them at all; they just mess around the whole time, Jacopo instead of singing dives into the crowd and I don't know... that stuff makes me cringe. In any case, find me an Italian band that isn't overrated by indie-hipsters-(s)fichi. It's stuff to forget, for me.
David Foster Wallace La Ragazza Dai Capelli Strani

This, among Foster Wallace's books, I'm missing, it's always there in the bookstore, but I still haven't picked it up. For now, the best remains Oblio anyway.

The problem is that when you say you like dubstep, everyone nowadays means THIS dubstep. And it's pretty terrible.
One Dimensional Man A Better Man

I admit that I had only listened to this album a couple of times, just the preview that was on Rockit. You kill me is a really great album, I like Take me away a lot too... but this one left me quite disappointed, I mean, it didn’t sound like them, I expected something different. And I had actually enjoyed them live, finally a concert without (or almost) preachings.

@radioactive: I think Akerfeldt was familiar with progressive long before he came into contact with Steven Wilson; the albums prior to Damnation are proof of that. This Heritage could have been a... I wouldn't say diversion, but almost, you know. I mean, as a standalone thing separate from Opeth, I would have definitely seen it in a better light.

It's that "are we sure it's Opeth?" that hits the point, not convincing me at all :-)

Well, it's not a bad album, but it's all pretty much standard progressive stuff. I've listened to it maybe two or three times, and I can't really give a fair judgment on the whole thing; the problem is that I'm not at all motivated to dig deeper into it. The uniqueness of Opeth was to perfectly juxtapose death (or heavy sounds) with prog; a work like Damnation fits that, but I don't know... It seems to me that, in some way, they've lost their way.

Well, this album has been talked about terribly by everyone, and when I decided to listen to it, I expected a piece of crap of biblical proportions... instead, it’s actually a pretty nice little record; nothing compared to Nothing's Shocking, it definitely tilts towards a "catchy" rock, thus a bit commercial, but hey, in that field, it does its job. I won’t listen to it again because it’s just not my thing, but when I say "piece of crap," I mean something entirely different. And the voice is still the same. Definitely better than this album are the U2, just to give you an idea.
Lou Reed & Metallica Lulu
Voto:
Sorry, but how the fuck can you criticize Lou Reed for "talking"? Isn’t that pretty much what he's always done since the Velvet Underground? I mean, come on, everything else is fair game, but not this. The album sucks for me too, but "banal" doesn’t seem like the right adjective at all.

I couldn't care less about teeth, they suck and that's it; but I really liked you a lot in this review, that "artsy way of doing things" referring to this gang of new hipsters is beautiful. Those who, just to be considered "artists" by someone, try everything: writing, video, photography, music, and a ton of other bullshit, it's continuous recycling.
