THE REVIEW

A great opening ("Right In"/"Bangarang") and then a slow descent into mediocrity.

Only "Right On Time" surprises, since at least it boasts a minimum of originality; the rest is a pale and faded derivation of previous works, an endless recycling of the same sounds, an overuse of a formula that still works today (but for how long?) yet already shows a need for renewal.

The talent is there, as demonstrated by everything released from 2008 to 2010, but the commitment and desire to experiment seem no longer what they once were: emblematic in this case is the decision to include in this EP a version of "Breathe" (renamed "Summit") flattened and stripped of its raw yet at least inspired bursts, reduced to a poor copy of itself, perhaps like its own creator.

Summary by Bot

The Bangarang EP by Skrillex opens with strong tracks but soon loses momentum. 'Right On Time' stands out for originality, while much of the EP recycles familiar sounds. The creativity and experimental drive evident in earlier works seem diminished here, exemplified by the diluted version of 'Breathe' retitled 'Summit.' Overall, the EP shows talent but lacks fresh innovation.
