Enrico Brizzi Bastogne

I haven’t read this... From how you describe it, more than A Clockwork Orange, it reminds me of Trainspotting by Welsh... The film isn’t bad... but it takes away all the intimate and dramatic parts of the story... In the end, Rent and his friends seem like idiots who are just playing around with drugs and causing chaos... I mean... Spud in the book is a complete misfit and almost evokes pity... In the film, he’s just a perfectly normal stupid 17-year-old boy... I was laughing like crazy during the viewing... but that’s not what I wanted... I’ve read Brizzi’s classic, Jack Frusciante è uscito dal gruppo... and as an introductory read for other works, it’s just fine... it’s always better to identify with Alex than with Step... :D

To define this film, I borrow the adjective used by my mother right after we left the cinema... "disturbing"... a raw film... without any philosophical mental gymnastics... simply about kids like us (some misfits, some well-off... but in the end, I think that’s of little importance) who in a week become perfect autocrats and incite a subversion in the city... and what’s even scarier is that the professor acted on educated people... not farmers... students... people who on paper should have the mental tools to decide for themselves... for heaven's sake... far be it from me to idealize this film... but honestly, I see much of my generation in it... all those kids who set Mussolini or Che Guevara’s photos as their phone wallpaper probably can't wait for a "leader" to take them on some venture... nowadays, to mean anything, you have to get involved in something... it's unpleasant and especially difficult to admit being disoriented and not knowing what to choose because there are no choices... being seen as a loser in everyone’s eyes... playing the part of the useless or the slacker... this is what troubles the youth... not counting for anything... this will only lead to a further competition to get screwed over... the weak are weak because they are too sensitive... so it means they perceive problems more acutely and therefore understand what’s happening... they will soon find themselves flat on their backs... an old discussion, but one I see expanding more and more...

Great interview... I saw Emidio in Turin before the concert outside the hiroshima... I just didn't have the courage to approach him... :)

I heard something on their space and I think I might like them a lot... is the album easy to find by any chance?

@ghemi... as I see it, Dampyr has a significant visionary and cruel aspect... I don’t think it’s a masterpiece on paper either... but for me, it remains a nice comic... perhaps idolized by the more fanatic ones (the Dungeons and Dragons types... is it written like this? :D) but still entertaining... Dylan Dog is... in the Sclavi phase... my favorite Bonelli comic... anyway, the dreamlike scenes are there even now but thrown in completely randomly... the problem is they feel obligated to include a moralistic rant at the end of every issue... that said, Di Gregorio and De Nardo sometimes come up with some pretty good stories... as well as some unreadable nonsense... do you have any comics to recommend by any chance?... it's a time when I'm thirsty for knowledge... :)

Dampyr up to issue 104 is really nice in my opinion... visionary... cruel... perhaps at times a bit tacky but not too much... the last 2 or 3 issues (the latest one really sucks) don't excite me though... Dylan Dog when Sclavi was writing it was a truly terrifying comic... psychedelic, I would say... Brendon might have stories that are never too developed (in the sense that they always seem like a summary) but it's not bad at all... Dix I don't like at all... Tex has improved since Boselli took over from Nizzi (though leaving Dampyr aside... sigh...) Julia is quite nice... maybe a bit too much of a mystery for my tastes...

I've read almost everything about Tex, and it's now spilling out of my head... you're absolutely right in saying that the stories are often predictable and clichéd... but I think Tex's goal is simply to be entertaining, and in that, it succeeds brilliantly... Ken Parker, on the other hand, is much deeper and more tormented... my favorite remains Dylan Dog (even if the latest stories... brrr!)... among the more recent titles, however, Dampyr and Brendon are not bad at all... although a few less flashy effects would suit them better... Nathan Never has really gone downhill...
Roberto Saviano Gomorra

Great Bon... the book impressed me too... even though I don't feel like giving it a rating... Saviano is a very consistent person... at first, I wasn't very trusting... I never trust the publicity that is made for a product... then I saw him on Che tempo che fa... maybe a year ago... and I decided to read it...

@pixies...in the 60s/70s it was different...the so-called majors were truly seeking novelty and were willing to take the necessary risks...the Doors and, indeed, the Stooges are two fitting examples for Elektra...from my perspective, independence is a concept that belongs mainly to the 80s/90s...when there was a genuinely alternative culture to the mainstream...then, what you say about personality is absolutely true...as for Korn, I really don’t like them at all, and therefore I don’t see them as a relevant example :)
