Katatonia Night Is The New Day

Is it spent? As I already said, the songs taken one by one are very beautiful... but I find listening to it as an album incredibly boring... halfway through, the tracks start to sound very similar... beautiful, sure... but not just beautiful, also the same... equally beautiful... but the same :-D

and already the great cold distance in terms of boredom was no joke... the songs were nice when taken aside... but my god what a pain in the ass... I have to listen to this...

Well... the point is that a band is not a singer-songwriter... I'm talking about the lyrics...

God, guys, what a sadness... I remember that Bartle, in another review of Delorenzo, talked about the ability to distinguish an occasion to clash from one to have a good laugh... here I see a lot of people who I believe lack that ability...

so... thanks for joining... I still believe that Canali is more of a "sponsor"... then I like your group... but... with Canali involved, you’re making me drift away from the project... sigh... alright, bye... :-D

@iside...I don't know how he behaves with artists...what I mean is that he comes off like a Midas touch guru, and anything he produces is automatically great stuff...even when he might not have done much in terms of production...I actually like him as a character...his interviews are a real laugh...the album with the red arrow, saying that I've worn it out would be an understatement...

Exactly... he's the artistic producer... I'm not saying he has to change everything... but if you take a band for their debut album, you can't just disregard the sound... I mean... there's always a middle ground between turning an honest indie rock band into Slint and doing absolutely nothing, right? He has never cared about the sound (or he has distorted and made it more accessible as in 'Luci' and perhaps here too)... and damn, you can feel it... if he had done even the bare minimum of his job, he would have realized that the vocals are often excessive and that the guitars are overly loaded for an album like this... but that didn't happen, and now I'm here saying that this debut could have been a thousand times better while still keeping the "integrity" of the original artistic side of the guys... the fact is that Canali is smart... he knows better than all of us that it's just a name... a brand... considered a sort of Midas touch guru... and he behaves as such... that being said, I like his albums just as I like the Dondolaluva... mine was just an observation... :-D

the only album where he contributed something of his own was Vasco Brondi's (and perhaps he would have really been better off leaving everything as it was in the demo, maybe just applying a bit of sound cleaning)... in all his other productions, he never did a damn thing...

@lazlotoz...you hit the nail on the head...canali is just a sponsor...doesn't produce anything...at least they could point out groups and then, since they don't give a damn about anything, hand them over to someone who would produce them seriously...canali is a label...nothing more...
