One of my favorite bands, I can't tell you how much I would love to see them live...

What a great album this is, it would be even better if it snowed... :-D
The Vaselines Dum-Dum

The advertising done by Cobain for the Vaselines left things unchanged up to a certain point: it didn't get them chart success nor did it bring them the hoped-for notoriety, but still, if you know about this record now, it's thanks to him, and like you, millions of other people (including me). The Vaselines would probably have remained unknown even in their own land, let alone in the world. Now, however, anyone who reads the history of Nirvana (and there are many) knows that "Molly's Lips," "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam," and "Son of a Gun" are covers by the Vaselines, and as a result, a significant portion of those who know Nirvana go looking for them and know they exist.

The Vaselines are my cross and delight; some songs definitely deserve a place in the best pop ever, while others are just absolutely terrible. I've always had the feeling that they didn't really care much about the music they played, their tracks are often quite rough around the edges. Let's say that if Kurt Cobain hadn't "promoted" them, they would just be a bunch of kids having a good time without any ambition. In short, they should be thankful for the series of circumstances that led a copy of Dum Dum to end up in the library of Aberdeen (or Olympia?) :-D
William Basinski The Disintegration Loops III

"Loops that slowly deteriorate," damn, our blech now chews through electronics like it's canned tuna :-D... see that your tacky side has really come out?:DD Anyway, I need to listen to the album more carefully and with less distraction.
Uochi Toki Libro Audio

The best album of 2009 in my opinion, despite the hostility, I've listened to it (and still listen to it, even if less) a ton of times. I’ve also tried the other albums by Uochi Toki, but I don't really like them that much. The beautiful thing is that here the parts, even when separate, still thrive, in the sense: the lyrics lose nothing even without “music”; in the same way, the beats could very well constitute a pretty decent electronic album. Honor to Uochi Toki :-D.

the demo is mind-blowing, cobain at times unrecognizable :-). Anyway, I have the book by everett true where it tells that the bleach tour was somewhat of a disaster from kurt's mental standpoint... in rome he climbed on top of the speaker wall and threatened to jump down, they decided to "cancel" the last dates of the tour because the situation was at risk of collapsing.
Muse Live @ Palaisozaki, Torino 04.12.09

Biffy Clyro banal? The latest album maybe (but even there, I think they’re just riding on Muse’s coattails), the previous three are a wonder, especially Vertigo of Bliss... I've already expressed too much about Muse elsewhere and I don't want to be pathetic.
