Samael Solar Soul
Voto:
Finally! After months and months of thinking that no one cared about Samael, I finally read not only the review of their latest effort, but even those of "Era One"!
It's a great satisfaction. Until some time ago, I was the only one writing about the genius of this band; now I’m not alone, and this makes me happy.
Great review, by the way. As for the album... Well, as always, Samael has accustomed us to the highest peaks of originality, and nothing better could have been asked for.
Well done again.
Borknagar Quintessence

Please let’s not say nonsense! Comparing Borknagar to Dimmu Borgir would be like comparing potatoes to onions, and thus, any connection between the two bands seems at least "forced" (not to say a harsh word). The only thing the two bands might have in common is ICS Vortex, who has been a part of, and still is, the second vocalist and bassist for Dimmu Borgir.
Other than that, nothing. You cannot place albums like "Death Cult Armageddon" and this one on corresponding levels. "Quintessence" is perhaps the most complex and caustic work of Borknagar, but it remains tied to Progressive standards that Dimmu can only dream of, for Odin!
Not the best, which for me remains "The Archaic Course" (still with Vortex on the mic), but certainly the one that captivates you more the more you listen to it. Long live Borknagar! Long live cultured Metal!

What does the last sentence you wrote mean, Aniel?
Regarding Ozzy, I have to say that the Madman is like the fucking first love: you never forget it. You can listen to anything, any genre, but when the "old man" calls, many come running, and I'm one of them. Almost all the songs are powerful and well-placed, and very catchy. Sure, sure, no masterpieces, but damn, it's always great to turn up the volume while listening to Ozzy!

I almost forgot the grade... sorry Death...

I'm late to comment on this album, but I wanted to wait to really listen to it before sharing my modest opinion. Well, let me tell you that I will never again buy an album just because I trust the band that produced it. This is not a record: it's an outrage, a theft from the pockets of Mayhem fans! Money wasted, and for those who have not bought it yet, I can only say to save yourselves the effort, it’s terrible, don’t waste your savings. Instead, you might want to consider the latest from Marduk!
There’s a lot of talk about this album featuring the lauded Hellhammer (once again). After a poor soul finds him even in his own garden, with him playing everywhere, some tracks start feeling stale, and boredom sets in. And then there's Attila. A complete idiot who probably thought he could scrape together some money to continue his drug habit with this work.
If I were in Mayhem, I would be ashamed to have released such junk. I'm going back to listen to Dark Funeral. They may be repetitive, noisy, etc., but at least their songs have some meaning; these guys don’t even know where to begin...

Well, for my part, this is a great review. It's only natural that if it describes an album among my all-time favorites from one of my all-time favorite bands, everything becomes exceptional. Well done! Few manage to understand Therion. You do it perfectly.
Opeth Ghost Reveries
Voto:
This review is shameful and serves no purpose. To accuse Opeth of plagiarism... what nonsense. If only there were more albums like this around, every day, no doubt about it. Get into horse racing.

Oh! This is what writing is all about! A powerful band that, for some reason, has always left a void around it. And to think that there are so many that don’t even come close (and still don’t) to their devastating power, and everyone rushes to praise them.
Metallica St.Anger
Voto:
Oh come on! Enough is enough! Is it possible that everyone keeps wasting time going on about the Metallica, positively or negatively? Have you forgotten about all the other bands, good or bad, that are out there? For Odin's sake, enough! What more can be said about an album that’s been reviewed at least a million and a half times? Damn it, Metal is great because it's diverse: broaden your listening, and leave this stinky and stale residue of mephitic bodily ablutions behind.
Machine Head The Blackening
Voto:
Three for the review, which could have been "4" if you had avoided the annoyingly detailed track-by-track analysis. You've improved anyway, and I give you my compliments.
As for Machine Head, I prefer them more when they were featured in the soundtrack of "Demon Knight."
