"I need a doctor for my depression, I look in the mirror, I say: who is that?". In fact, the author of these words can challenge the artistic validity of one who wrote: "the vanity of my opponent, superb, unparalleled, was like the intricate canvas that hosts and traps the spider, an unwitting creator." (thank you OleEinar, it was enlightening...)

Ah! What does Caselli have to do with it? She's not produced by Caselli... then if Elisa is famous because she's Caselli's lover, does that mean Caterina gets to be with Bocelli and the entire Negramaro band too? I want to become a music producer...!

I don't understand how being a lesbian, which, by the way, is far from reality, has anything to do with the discussion... one can criticize someone's music without being offensive, showing at least a minimum of dignity, but on Debaser, it’s always difficult to express a review without suffering from so much ignorance... writing without knowledge is definitely annoying, because Carmen has done a lot of groundwork... besides, even if she hadn't, I wouldn’t see this as a tragedy... good for her if she did well from the start! Whether helped by her father or not (which hypocrite claims they would refuse help to pursue their dream job?), her music is on CDs to be listened to, and it seems to me that it goes well beyond any recommendation! Where ‘tele e quele’ to ‘tresy ciapman’ fits in is really something to uncover...

marcounali... marcounali... do you really think the songs are his? and why? because His Holiness the CD booklet told you so? any producer with a modicum of brain knows that if he declared the songs of his protegé were bought from specific craftsmen of the hit, the hen would no longer lay golden eggs, but would remain just a hen... so it's better to make people believe that a sequined blonde can write something! if we go by the booklets, even Take That, Spice Girls, and Backstreet Boys wrote their own lyrics... but can you imagine Emma Bunton scolding Victoria Beckham because instead of 'want to be' she wants to write 'wannabe'? - - - - - - can avril sing? or rather, can she carry a tune? that's the minimum! and she'd even have a more interesting voice if they didn't change it in the studio (live she's much more expressive than on CD) - - - - - - as for the positive role model: boyintheocean completely stole my words... when I saw the video for 'girlfriend' (oh! the producer didn’t know it was a plagiarism when he bought it...) I thought: in the end, the loser rebels and throws lemons in the face of that bitch who has humiliated her in public repeatedly and who stole her boyfriend (who, poor guy, gave in to the charms of someone who probably would have slept with him earlier)... I thought: now she's going to beat that jerk to a pulp, the typical bully who ruins the lives of innocent healthy girls (those who don't think they’re ten years older)... and instead... instead, in the end, she prevails over the loser, who ends up in a pond amidst general laughter (I mean... they’re just standing there laughing while she’s drowning!!!)... that's just how life goes, you know... years ago in my country, some fifth-year IPSIA students hung a kid out of a window... but are we sure avril is a good example? ah... I remember that in addition to this we've seen saint avril writing with spray paint on walls, vandalizing in shopping malls, and running away from the police! all things I would love my daughter to do...

Aside from the usual detractors, who come around every time Carmen's name is mentioned, she is one of the most important figures in Italian music (and one of the few survivors from the '90s). Unfortunately, this album is, for me, the low point of her production. It's too clever and radio-friendly, too similar to 'stato di necessità,' lacking coherence in its sound and feeling uninspired in its lyrics (Carmen had accustomed us to much better). However, to give an overall judgment of the album, I can't help but imagine having to write something better... My answer is that not only could I not do it, but many others in Italy can't either... Then, alongside clumsy efforts like 'venti del nord' or the clever 'moderato in re minore' ('l'ultimo bacio' part two?), there are true masterpieces, such as 'uva acerba' (a wonderful ballad with a classic '60s flavor), 'fiori d'arancio,' and the brilliant 'masino,' with its extreme blend of tradition and modernity. These songs alone are enough to silence anyone who has the presumption to think they could do better.

nancy sinatra, donna summer, madonna, cyndi lauper, alanis morissette… did I maybe say janis joplin? patti smith? siouxsie sioux? there’s a difference between challenging music and music that’s easy, accessible to kids, I agree, but avril lavigne's (which isn’t even hers) is not music, but a skilled reproduction of cleverly packaged music designed to make young girls think they're listening to cool stuff… come on!

to those who claim this is music for teenagers... in the 60s, teenagers listened to Nancy Sinatra and her alternative musings on velvety mornings... in the 70s, sweet fifteen-year-olds danced to the cheeky provocations of Donna Summer... in the 80s there was even a choice: either they claimed to just want to have fun with Cyndi Lauper, or they sighed, hoping to one day understand the meaning of the phrase 'feeling like a virgin'... the 90s paved the way for the sassy and self-assured girls, those who screamed curses at their boyfriends thanks to the advice of Alanis Morissette... in every era, young girls have found something to listen to in the vast musical landscape, but after all, all these examples are still worthy representatives of the word music! there wasn't plastic, or at least not just that...

Donatella Rettore Incantesimi Notturni

The review is good, but I don't agree with the album in question... I am a big fan of Rettore, I love her unusual and modern lyrics, but I must say, this album marks the beginning of a weak period for Miss Rettore's art. The 90s are generally a bit weak in her discography (even though you can forgive someone who has written real masterpieces like 'Delirio', 'Salvami', 'Benvenuto'...). The lyrics are less incisive, the arrangements are cliché, and there's a bit of conformity that doesn't quite suit her character (I just can't see her in evening wear at the Sanremo festival)... She has somewhat returned to her roots lately (after the collaboration with Elio e le Storie Tese, 'Fax'), pulling out songs with excellent polish like 'Bastardo' and the stunning 'Konkiglia' (pieces I recommend everyone to listen to).
