Great review, I've been eagerly awaiting it ;-) ... I don't completely agree with some of your points, but overall the album deserves a 2, no doubt about it. It's a 2 because it's meandering and lacks courage (it can’t shake off those sterile and pointless Brit-pop ballads). However, where she tries other paths, Geraldine shines. The dance tracks undoubtedly come out on top, except for 'Superstar'. I don't agree with your assessment of 'Desire', whose sounds were absolutely good. The swing tracks show how Geri's voice would be much more suited to that genre; it only lacks the courage to abandon the safe route of pop (which ultimately hasn’t proven to be that safe after all!). One note... you can't say she's our favorite redhead over... and Tori Amos? And Melissa Auf Der Maur? A point taken away...

(except that if we really want to talk about technique, I think Elisa has the best vocal technique in Italy) but who said that a song must be technical to be beautiful? Many times being technical comes at the expense of emotions. This is probably a song that moves a lot of people, regardless of their musical culture, people who go buy the record because they find it beautiful... I believe that this already means hitting the mark.

I have no words regarding the comments, as usual, pearls of wisdom expressed at the extremes of Italian orthography. The song is nice, although for Elisa to duet with Ligabue feels like a bit of a slip (the last duet was with Tina Turner)... very catchy chorus, but I must admit that at first glance it reminded me of 'nothing but' by Skin, and it still somewhat reminds me of it...

very good, but I would prefer if she made more "classic" songs. she resembles Björk perhaps in her vocal style, but the merit of Björk, at least in the beginning, was to be able to reach the masses with her vocal experimentation and not just that.
