Elvis Costello & Allen Toussaint The River In Reverse

Well, Lotte Lenya... great... what can I say... anyway, I like the stratas because she is a mezzo-soprano, so I perceive her voice in a special way. As for Ute Lemper, there are some albums that I don't love much; I remember one from four years ago that was too sweet and annoying (I've removed the title). Anyway, regarding free associations, I would say you've been perfect :))) But if you've never heard Dessau, I found some CDs from a German label; if you're interested, I can retrieve the catalog. Bye :)

Sure, the adjective "affected" really fits for certain things about Costello; in fact, it could also be used for some tracks on this record. But even Ute Lemper has sometimes gone down the path of slightly too saccharine albums. Yet others, like those dedicated to Kurt Weill, are incredible... although, speaking of Kurt Weill, I really like Teresa Stratas... and now it comes to mind that in the relationship with Brecht, the good Weill overshadows Paul Dessau; we should talk about it... damn, how much I've digressed... sorry :))

Question: But if someone only knows one of the doubly reviewed discs, how can they vote for it? :))

Yesterday, I enjoyed listening to the album with Galliano again, inspired by the review here, and it was a delightful listening experience that reminded me of the Portal Galliano concert I attended a few years ago... it was wonderful to hear them play in unison at an incredible speed... they even performed a piece by Galliano dedicated to a trip to Sardinia... the title, the title... I can't remember, I'll have to browse through the discography... waiting for the envelope whenever you want, bye :)

Sorry, but what the heck does all this numerical discourse mean? Are you an accountant? Are you good with numbers? Do you like the lottery? I don't know... If you don't like this album, feel free to say so, that's perfectly fine. For me, it's neither good nor bad. But the fact that the reviewer likes it is more than legitimate, so to refute their opinion with such arrogance is not just an annoying presumption, but also a tangible sign of a lack of open-mindedness. But maybe pointing that out is like shooting at the Red Cross...
