Thank you Tenshisell, but I thought the origins of the double bass were more controversial. I recalled, in fact, some theses suggesting that the double bass was born around the end of the 18th century and that it was nothing but a derivation, through modifications and improvements, of older instruments. But I reiterate that I am not an expert in the field and I actually hope for further contributions. Best regards.
