Michael Gira has a long history in music: in the mid-'80s, he was part of Swans, a band that, alongside Sonic Youth, was a key player in the New York noise scene of that era.
The Swans project was successful for 15 years, producing beautiful albums like "The Great Annihilator" and "Children of God". Must-haves!

Extremely shy and reserved personality, extreme integrity and a strong will to preserve his work from the need to compromise, so much so that in 1997 he founded his own record label, YOUNG GOD RECORDS - which has produced, among others, Calla, Devendra Banhart, and Ulan Bator - with which he releases albums of his new group, The Angels of Light.
"Everything Is Good Here/Please Come Home" is their third album, the previous ones being "The Body Lovers/The Body Haters" and "How I Loved You".

Gira belongs to the same family of maladapted preachers as Nick Cave. But his sole mission is to make music, intense and layered music thanks to a true orchestra of instruments.
Baritone voice, beautiful lyrics that range from politics to sex, from money to mass media, from power to the brutally human deviations of the human soul.

"My mistake, always, has been to not be able to learn when enough is enough. But I accept that flaw." I really like this man... "Ha ha, craft seems like a lofty term when applied to me. I still have zero conventional skills. I just go where my imagination leads me. My approach now is to try to challenge myself, to make an uncomfortable or unfamiliar moment in time happen." Actually, I could fall in love with him... this album is carving out a little place in my brain... and in my heart.
