I don't know. I didn't love the album as much as you did, and the review leaves me a bit puzzled, but not for that reason. Rather, it's because I keep getting lost between the lines. But maybe that was your intention. Who knows?

I have the bad habit of picking up any albums that somehow reference Tom Waits, sometimes ending up with some spectacular disappointments—like in the case of the Frisell and Petra Haden record. Anyway, I got this one too at the time. I haven't listened to it that much, but maybe you're right in saying that the version of "Clap Hands" puts De Leo a bit on edge. But it's not that bad either. I've seen them in concert a couple of times, and they surprised and entertained me. It might also be due to the somewhat unusual formation of the group. The fact is, De Leo has a great voice. I liked the review. Cheers.

The cover is incredible (an adjective usually used when you don't know whether to say ugly or beautiful :), the review is not the best you've written (and you know it :), but still pleasant. Greetings to Tokyo!
