Robert Wyatt Cuckooland
Voto:
I don't know Wyatt very well, but I can tell you what little I know. It seems like something has already been said about him. I really enjoyed Rock Bottom and Shleep, which references Rocky... if I had to choose, maybe Rock Bottom... no, without maybe. As for your gloomy request, I can’t remember right now, maybe you have to be contagious :))

Ajò Nick, come pick me up :) then we can rent a bus to load everyone up :)) and we'll arrive in Berlin. Anyway, Francesco, I discovered Eleni several years ago when I bought one of her records (Music for Films from '92), and I've been following her ever since. I got all the titles mentioned in the review (the most beautiful for me is "Eternity And A Day" from 1998) and they're all easily traceable. It's a shame about the cover because those ECM ones are always very beautiful. Anyway, anyone who wants to see her can find her on the website www.ecmrecords.com by searching for artists or through the more info link found in the discography. Just a curiosity. This album climbed the Greek pop charts, reaching the 2nd place, which is quite unusual for this genre of music. Bye!

Norah Jones Feels like home

Nick, send your review. If Debaser can handle three Let It Be Naked and Radiohead in abundance, then two Norah Jones can't hurt :)

Norah Jones Feels like home

I enjoyed this album, less than the previous one, but I still liked it. The music of Ravi Shankar's daughter remains a phenomenon that's hard to categorize. It’s produced by the legendary Blue Note, but it's not a jazz album. There’s jazz in it, but also pop, blues, and country. There’s really a bit of everything in this record. However, it’s her voice that ties it all together, truly beautiful. Nevertheless, I have read and heard various criticisms directed at Norah Jones. On one hand, jazz enthusiasts have expressed discomfort with this music that isn’t jazz, yet is released by Blue Note. On the other hand, I've heard criticisms regarding the so-called construction of the Norah Jones phenomenon. In my opinion, however, the snobbish critiques from jazz musicians and those purists who oppose marketing are excessive. Looking at the music, the album is enjoyable and it doesn’t seem to have any other pretensions.
Vinicio Capossela Canzoni a Manovella
Voto:
Anyway, it's true that at the time of "around one thirty-five," many compared Capossela to Conte. Whether the comparison was right or wrong is another matter. The other comparison was with Tom Waits. In any case, over the years, Capossela has gradually freed himself from these comparisons, and today Capossela resembles... Capossela.

I have never loved this album, even though my official supplier of REM CDs praised it at the time. Nowadays, I would give it a solid 3. However, I have never listened to it while traveling. If the opportunity arises, I'll give it a try on the road and we'll see if anything changes.
