You know, vainly I don't think I've fully understood your words. I have the impression that we are talking about things that, if not different, are at least not entirely coincident. But anyway, if the difference exists, it is not just ideological, but substantial. Different conceptions (of society and of man), from different value systems, lead to different actions to protect different and conflicting interests. The crisis of politics (both right and left) today is precisely due to the fact that it is increasingly difficult to reconcile opposing interests, which are multiplying and fragmenting uncontrollably. Talking about "general interest" today is almost absurd. The problem is that reconciling diversity always involves sacrifices for someone; the choice and extent of these sacrifices are a factor that still discriminates between right and left. This also affects the relationship between leadership and grassroots: the multiplication of interests has indeed put the very concept of political representation in crisis. Then there are "blind behaviors," madness, bribes, etc., denying their existence would be foolish, but they are an important part of the discussion, not the discussion itself. Reducing politics to just that is, in my opinion, wrong and overly simplifies a much more complex picture. I conclude by apologizing to Daniele El Pueblo for having invaded this space that was meant to be dedicated to his review. Goodbye.
