Blonde Redhead Misery Is A Butterfly

It may be, but for me it's truly a great album. At first, I was a bit perplexed by the strained voice that G_à mentions, but after a while, it wrapped me up. "Melody ..." I only discovered that after this, maybe I like it a bit more, but just a little.

Every now and then a review slips through the cracks. I listened to the samples and now I've moved on to stormyweather. I like the delicate guitar arpeggio and the supporting strings. His voice is equally delicate; it reminds me of someone. Thank you for the recommendation, I will definitely look for it.

Yes, Turk, you can imagine well. Mari Boine Persen is not easy, damn it, but she is fascinating; she's of Lapp origin if I remember correctly and maybe she was also in twelve moons, which is one of the Garbarek albums I love the most. I remember discovering her in the cinema because her music was used for "vesna va veloce" by ... well, I can't remember anymore. Don't dismiss the Swedes, Turk, okay, aside from Ibrahimovic :)

@ joser, I wonder if this album will suit your tastes; actually, I have some doubts, so let me know. @ Turkish. A saxophonist, surprise! You’re probably right, Turk. I don’t have the tools to make technical evaluations, but I completely agree on the evocative power of Garbarek's sax. To me, it sounds pretty good :) I was thinking of pointing out some equally beautiful "Nordic" albums. The first is a collection of Norwegian medieval songs by Agnes Buen Garnas, always featuring Garbarek, titled Rosenfole (Ecm). It’s not an easy listen, but definitely more approachable if you have Norwegian background. The others: "Nordan" and "Agram" by Lena Willemark and Ale Moller, Swedish folk music connected to the sea. I prefer the first, but Agram is also nice. They are both released by ECM. And what do I say to Nick, Josi, and zzzzz now? Will a simple hello suffice? :)))))

@ Socrates, since you know this album, I would love to hear your thoughts on it compared to the previous Rites (if you’ve had a chance to listen to it); @ Kappa no borrowing, I’ll just give your eardrums some more “work” ;)) @ frantz you know... my judgment on this 2004 is actually positive, there are really many albums that I liked, that I listened to for a long time and that I will probably listen to again in the future. Maybe only jazz this year has given - for me - less than in previous years, but I’m not complaining, after all Jarrett's album came out, this one by Garbarek, that one by Charlie Haden. Just tell me which album you want to review and I’ll abstain :) I took a quick look online at what you mentioned - L'Orchestra di piazza Vittorio - it looks interesting. I wouldn't mind listening to it and maybe reading what you think.

Thank you, Iko, for the suggestion of Jack Johnson; I liked it a lot too. G_à is right, we’re missing the review of On & On, Iko...
