The Residents Not Available

Curious from my reading, I took a trip around the web to learn a bit more. After seeing the cover of "meet the residents," I came to the conclusion that these guys are really crazy!!! Crazy but interesting (check out this site: Page no longer available I have a feeling that finding this CD will be anything but easy, which annoys me quite a bit given its contents, the supportive comments, and what I've read here and there. I read, for example, that among their "musical references," if we can call them that, are Frank Zappa and Edgar Varese. In short, I'll make a note of them, and we'll see what happens.

Johnny Cash American III: Solitary Man

Note to the dwarf custodian of Stadler Mars Plastic: the title of the CD should be "American III: Solitary Man" (without "the"). Hello
Johnny Cash American III: Solitary Man

It had been a while since I last listened to it, and your review encouraged me to do so. An intense album, through which Cash tells his story via his own music and that of others he manages to master. For example, I personally prefer the cover of "one" to the original, which wasn’t easy to achieve. His voice was a dark, deep gift, and the review captures the overall essence of this work, the artist, and paints a vivid picture of your feelings. Welcome, Klee.

Before reading the review, I had no interest in this album. It seems to me that it deserves a thorough listen. I'll keep it in mind, Grass, as always, on point. Bye

Fabrizio De André Non al denaro non all'amore né al cielo

"I read Spoon River when I was a kid, I must have been 18 years old. I liked it, and I don't know why I liked it, maybe because I found something of myself in these characters. Then I happened to reread it two years ago, and I realized that it hadn't aged at all. What struck me the most was this: in life, we're forced into competition, perhaps we are compelled to think falsely or not to be sincere; in death, however, the characters of Spoon River express themselves with extreme sincerity because they have nothing more to expect, they have nothing more to think. So they speak in a way that in life they were never able to do." (from the interview of Fernanda Pivano with Faber) I wanted to leave this fragment that I believe explains the album in the best way, hoping that someone will feel like listening to it. Bye

You're right, John Martyn was missed, but at least he’s in good company. I don't know this album, but I haven’t forgotten John Martyn; I love "Solid Air" a lot, which you mentioned, and just yesterday I spotted a reissue of one of his CDs in deluxe edition—I was thinking of treating myself to it today. Welcome Nicholas, a name that says it all, a nice program, hello :)
