I had forgotten about this review, then I listened to the album again and I think it was one of the most interesting of 2004. A great indication. Bye and best wishes :)
Antony and the Johnsons I Am A Bird Now
Voto:
I discovered Antony's angelic voice at a Lou Reed concert in 2003. His voice struck me deeply as he sang "Candy Says" in a soulful style. Longtime Lou Reed fans, on the other hand, were perplexed and disoriented. Then, towards the end of last year, I managed to listen to one of his solo albums (the self-titled Antony and the Johnsons), but I had a bit of difficulty; I couldn’t fully grasp it. When "I am a bird now" passed through my hands, I was a bit skeptical, but I found it stunning. I also rediscovered the other album. It’s true, he has a ma-ra-vi-glio-sa voice, but not just because we are dealing with extremely high interpretative levels. The review is all in that phrase that says, "Lyrics, melodies, and arrangements from classic singer-songwriters, but manages to be very personal. A lot of suffering everywhere, but with immense class." Great power of synthesis. Some samples are needed. Bye.
R.E.M. Around The Sun
Voto:
Sorry, but telling others that they don’t understand a thing while at the same time saying that "R.E.M. is for a certain elite" ... well, that confuses me. And besides, no one wants to put R.E.M. or any other band on trial, so there’s no need for defense attorneys. I think it’s enough to know why you like this album; I will respect your feelings and maybe after listening to the album again, I’ll find myself there too, or maybe not. For now, it bored me, and I’ve set it aside without much regret, and with great respect. The reason is written further up. Bye.

I really enjoyed your review. P. Wolf's previous album had positively surprised me, and from the way you talk about this one, it must be no less. If I had any doubts, they have now disappeared.

As I mentioned before, when I saw you were preparing this review, I had already sent mine. You make a lot of beautiful quotes, but I figured this album would inspire them. As for the samples, dear psycho, you would do me a big favor by including them since I'm a bit tied up today. Bye and thank you :)
