I listened to them a long time ago, but never loved them too much; today I don't feel like listening to them anymore, it's music that's far from me. However, I would have really liked to attend one of their concerts.

Another hidden gem in Belgium? Well, I wouldn't mind hearing a couple of samples. Strange that josi_ hasn't stopped by these parts ;)

But to say that Norah Jones is just a piano bar singer is a bit unfair :)) In my opinion, her albums aren't bad; they have their own sphere and a dignity of pleasant entertainment without too many thoughts, nothing more. Let's say that Jones is burnable :)) But positively, the Norah phenomenon has awoken a certain interest in the female voice. Personally, I prefer other voices... I mean, Cassandra Wilson (whatever happened to her?) and then the same Barber or our Claudia Tellini, or the usual certainties like Shirley Horn. In short, other realms compared to Jones. Bye :)

No kappa, the one that just came out is titled "want two" and follows "want one" (both covers are nice, too). I listened to "want two" the other day and it's not bad, but you're not wrong to recommend "poses." Nice choices, sam, the soundtrack of "I'm sam" is one of those records that I dust off from time to time, I already told you welcome, right? :)

And you did well to write it, because this album deserves attention, especially since it reflects a trend that needs to be deciphered. At this time, many female voices are emerging, not all at the same level. For some, this phenomenon follows the wake of Norah Jones’s international success (strike while the iron is hot), and indeed some authors from Jones’s entourage contributed to this album. But it’s a different genre; I’m not sure if I’d call it better, but I certainly prefer it. In fact, I’m curious to hear her first work, which also featured Marc Ribot. I would like to see what has changed for better or worse over the years for Madeleine. Since you enjoyed this album, I wanted to suggest checking out Patricia Barber, who is even less known but truly talented and on the rise. Bye.
