Dear Socrates, I completely agree that popular craftsmanship should be defended, but making good pop is not easy at all. Pop is a double-edged sword and risks slipping into banality. It’s not just a matter of form, but of content. In this case, the content is clearly lacking, and its absence is masked by an over-arrangement (especially vocal). There is a very elaborate effort in the production of this album, a commendable effort, but excessive, to say the least, because in my opinion, this has led them to not be fresh, spontaneous, and light, but to appear fresh, spontaneous, and light, and there is a significant difference, the same difference that exists between art and its semblance. "The next Lennon and McCartney are probably already among us" might be true, but they don’t seem to be these. Bye :) [ps: just between us, but don’t tell anyone, Hornby is a bit hard for me to swallow, especially after reading what he wrote about Nick Drake.]

But in my opinion, it doesn't even capture the style. As for the text of high, it's all built on themes (dawn, dead stars, love) constructed in a way that I don't find surprising. Stunning seems too much to me, in my admittedly debatable opinion. Hi :) ps: I've listened to the whole album and at unexpected times.

So, Nick, yesterday I printed your review and took it to my favorite CD shop. The owner tries to guide customers by providing as much information as possible about the records. In the store, she actually keeps catalogs, magazines, newspapers, and music books. For this record, you will be the guide for the customers. In case the record isn’t liked, I left your email for refunds, okay? ;)) Bye

Oh come on... he's light-years away from Jeff Buckley and David Gray. Elton John seems to like him from what I've read, but I don't. I find him bland. I think they've stitched a nice story around him and then launched him into the market, and it’s no coincidence that he's paired with a commercial. At the concert in Piazza San Giovanni, his vocal performance was embarrassing, and as for the lyrics... just think if the following words had been in Italian: "You're beautiful./ You're beautiful./ You're beautiful, it's true. /I saw your face in a crowded place,/ And I don't know what to do,/ 'Cause I'll never be with you." But he seems nice to me.

I listened to it a lot when it came out, at the end of last year I think. Chimenti is a very interesting musician and I really liked the project of setting Ungaretti's "il porto sepolto" to music. This is a very delicate, beautiful, well-crafted record, but ... for me, it doesn’t leave a mark. It still deserves to be listened to, because there are really very few albums like this.

Rusted brandy in a diamond glass / Everything is made from dreams / Time is made from honey slow and sweet / Only the fools know what it means / Temptation, temptation, temptation
Oh, temptation, temptation, I can’t resist / Well I know that she is made of smoke / But I’ve lost my way / He knows that I am broke / But I must play / Temptation, oh temptation, temptation, I can’t resist / Dutch pink and Italian blue / He is there waiting for you / My will has disappeared / Now confusion is so clear / Temptation, temptation, temptation
I can’t resist / Temptation, temptation, temptation / I can’t resist

Ah, what a comfort to discover that I am not the only one who finds this group trivial. In fact, to tell the truth, I was expecting some insults (maybe they will come) because about this CD I have only read untold praises and honestly, I just don’t get it. It really seemed like a pointless little disc, one of those, just to be clear, that make you say as caz says "v'aggiu lampaddu li dinà" (that is, damn it, I wasted my money). Now it’s zzzz’s turn, let’s see if she too will have something to curse about ;))

Another one of those albums I've listened to a million times and still haven't grown tired of, and I don't think I ever will. Temptation is one of my favorites by Tommaso. I won't go on, and I'll leave you a link I found the other day: link rotto

Afterwards I'll listen to the samples just to give Goldie a chance, but I have a feeling it's not for me :)
