Thanks crew, I hope someone manages to listen to this album; I believe it’s a very beautiful work that deserves wide visibility. It’s no wonder it’s receiving great recognition abroad. Publishing for ECM, under Manfred Eicher, is not something just anyone does. It’s a prestigious record label with a clearly defined editorial line. Then there’s a whole separate discussion to have regarding the cover, because it fits the aesthetic logic of the record label. The connection between images and music is a hallmark of ECM, and for me, its covers are the most beautiful out there; I would love one day to be able to get the volume/catalog that collects them all. On the album, I also wanted to add that the introduction, which is delightful, included in the booklet is by Umberto Eco. Lastly, I wanted to remind everyone that Bertolt Brecht also collaborated with Paul Dessau, though his music isn’t easily available. What a shame. A thank you as well to the graphic dwarf for the nice visualization on the homepage of the review. Bye :)

I don't want to misremember, but it seems to me that it was also published in the much-missed Corto Maltese in the '80s (I should check the boxes that I jealously keep in the garage along with the old issues of comic art and l'eternauta). Then after a little browsing online, I found that the graphic novel was printed in Italy by Rizzoli milano libri in 1993; maybe it can still be found in some serious comic libraries. I still remember a splendid black and white. I also seem to recall something dedicated to Lester Young "lips"... I really should reopen those boxes. Bye.

A beautiful comic by Munoz and Sampayo dedicated to Billie Holiday came to mind, perfect to read with this record playing in the background.

Beautiful proposal, Odra. I know Glass's Solo Piano album, I've heard the samples and indeed, even in a few seconds, noticeable differences can be felt. I would really like to find this album and the other suggestions are quite interesting too. Minimalism has already been extensively discussed elsewhere, as Enea reminds us, with whom I still do not agree in assessing the minimalist inspiration on contemporary music as so profound; I actually believe it has played a more isolated role and is substantially running out of steam. Oh, I almost forgot... Kappa, I think you might really like the Metamorphosis; maybe I'll send you Glass's CD. Bye.

I also don't remember ever hearing it, a vote of esteem while waiting.

Yes, it’s a beautiful album and recommending it "to occasional melancholics and the excessively passionate" seems right to me. I envy you a bit for the concert; I would love to hear them live. ps. kappa, you didn’t send this to me, check well in the piles ;)) bye
Mauro Pagani 2004 Creuza De Ma

Well done, I totally agree. I believe one of the limitations of this album lies in the absence of Faber's voice and perhaps also in the pronunciation. But all in all, it doesn't seem like a commercial operation to me, considering that Pagani is the co-author of the album, so he had every right to carry out this project. I’d like to take this opportunity to mention that a few days ago, pianist Danilo Rea held a solo piano concert at the Agnata di Tempio (Faber's house) during the Time in Jazz festival, where he performed several songs from the Genoese singer-songwriter's repertoire. I don't know if a record will come out of it in the next few months – I somewhat hope so, to be honest – but those who attended the live show told me it was a truly beautiful evening. It's a shame I missed it.

"See dear, it's hard to explain, it's hard to talk about the ghosts of a mind / See dear, all I can say is that I change a little every day and that I am different / See dear, sometimes I'm in the sky like a kite in the wind that will then fall to the ground / See dear, it's hard to explain, it's hard to understand if you haven't already understood / See dear, certain crises are just a sign of something inside that is screaming to get out / See dear, some days are a year, some phrases are nothing that no longer needs to be heard / See dear, the seasons and smiles are money that should be spent properly / See dear, it's hard to explain, it's hard to understand if you haven't already understood."

I quote Nick, I also found it weak, lacking inspiration, based on worn-out patterns (for him). If someone else had recorded it, the judgment would probably be less harsh, but perhaps we always expect something more from Springsteen.
