In fact, I didn't discuss this aspect with Frantz, also because overall it seems reasonable to me, but with the record, you would be in the "front row."

"Forgive me for the length" after what I wrote? Are you kidding me, Frantz? :)) Yes, you've heard it in every possible way, but until you've tasted this one, your opinion will remain just a prejudice, not a judgment; there's not much to dance around. Then the listening could confirm what you say, I don't deny it. I also said that live it feels more tired, it's different; I noticed that exactly a year ago when I heard it live. Today, Conte is like this. This live performance is closer to Elegia than to the past—after all, it's somewhat melancholic, and that's the reason, in my opinion, that gives value to the album, especially for those who have known him in all fashions. I don't agree that this album is necessarily "superfluous," therefore. But above all, I disagree with evaluating it that way regardless of the listening. Sorry, but that's a presumptuous nonsense. As for the arena, I'm not debating that; don't you know? But the album sounds good.

I was gifted the recording of this album in 1994, back in different times, but it struck me deeply then. I must still have the cassette somewhere, but I haven't listened to it in a long time. Like many of Lolli's albums, it’s bitter, harsh. However, I wouldn’t confuse the man with his music. Live, he is anything but sad. He is an ironic person who leans towards sarcasm. Everyone at his concert held in a tiny room was asking for "Aspettando Godot" and he replied, "Godot? He hasn't arrived..." and then flashed a smile. So "Michel" ... is with Godot, his response.

But we should also discuss the meaning of the album, which I believe is portrayed distorted in this review. This live performance, in my opinion, is a kind of synthesis of what Conte is today and is unmissable for all those who have loved and listened to him always. For everyone else, however, it is less significant. It’s clear that this endeavor is also linked to commercial strategies, nothing scandalous about that. We need to see how they are carried out and not rely solely on easy prejudices. Scandalous, in this context, is rather the fact that the unreleased track is only present in the double CD, while it is absent from the corresponding DVD. This, in my opinion, is a choice that reflects a considerable lack of style. Lastly, for those who love the star rating system, the score for the album could be a 3.5, but I’ll raise it to a debaseriano 4.

But more than the number of tracks, it's the substance that matters, which is still good (this is acknowledged), not superficial. Of course, one must admit that during the listening, there's a bit of fatigue and less energy compared to the past. But this confirms that we are not facing the usual Conte. In addition to the renewed ensemble of musicians, the arrangements of the songs are different and, all in all, aligned with the current state of the singer-songwriter. Take, for example, "Diavolo rosso" from 1986, the energy, the strength, the vitality of that time, and compare it with today's version, which is more subdued: they are two very different Paolo Contes, it's almost obvious. Whether one may like one and not the other is another matter, completely legitimate.

I do not agree with either the reviewer or Frantz. The latter hasn’t listened to the album, so I invite him to do so calmly to get an impression that might very well be identical to his current one. But the reviewer perhaps hasn’t listened to it either, and if he did, it was during a very quick listening session that doesn’t suit Conte (the album was released on November 18). In fact, the review says little about the album itself. That little is summarized in the initial assumption ("it's the same as always"), which I believe is incorrect. In this live performance, there isn’t the usual Conte, except for the suggestions that belong to his poetic style. There are many of his classics, true, but there are also some songs from Elegia never performed live (the splendid "Lontano Lontano" and "Bamboolah") that portray a Conte different from the past.

Not everything I've heard from the cold north has always convinced me; however, this review is compelling, especially because of that strong quote at the end... noted!

I think we'll never see that monument, what a shame, I would have loved to see you with hammer and chisel, but unfortunately piracy is a form of defense :))

But what do you want me to say, damn it... by now I've understood that I shouldn't try to understand anything, so maybe (and I emphasize maybe) there’s a chance of understanding something... but damn, you have to tell me one thing, where do you see happy people at Christmas? They all seem stressed to me... and then you come in and break the "l'organo_riproduttore_maschile" ... damn, it’s cold, close the windows :))
