THE REVIEW

From the always "fresh" scene of Norway comes another beautiful album. A captivating voice, with well-done arrangements. It moves from electronic to jazz while staying in a constant and gently melancholic atmosphere.

It literally enchanted me from the first listen, something that no longer happens so often; to "get into" an album you have to listen to it over and over, but who has the time? This little gem is the exception, you hear it and fall in love without even thinking too much about who's behind it, I mean production and the like. Hukkelberg's voice is smooth and caressing, the arrangements sometimes remind me of Cocorosie's music boxes, but with more direct impact, in the more electronic tracks you can find the early Goldfrapp, often Feist's "Let it Die," a beautiful album from a few years ago. In reality, perhaps it's the synthesis of all that good has been heard lately; musical topics assimilated and digested, as it should be.

The various tracks flow smoothly and without discontinuity, personally, I would give the last track of the album, "Boble," the prize for the best piece. It starts with piano accompanied by an obsessive yet sweet keyboard, then almost simultaneously accordion and voice enter to create a not bad atmosphere that carries you away. In "Displaced," the arrangement is entrusted to a little guitar and wind instruments that recall Tom Waits at the end of the '80s with Rain Dogs. In short, it does not seem like the album of a novice, besides pleasing at first impact, listening to it with more attention you can only appreciate it further.

What a beautiful voice Hanne, what a sweet, enchanting, and celestial little voice Hanne has.

This album is so beautiful that it’s deadly.

I can no longer find my direction and even when the album ends, I am lost.
