I wouldn’t mind understanding better the genesis of Panthalassa... well, for now I'll listen to it again. Flawless review, symbad.

This proposal is nice too, even though as chicolini I don't quite agree that Django wasn't a revolutionary musician. From what little I know, he nonetheless contributed a great deal to defining a musical genre and an approach to the relationship between guitar and jazz. I have some very old records that I bought for just a pittance but are truly wonderful, like a live performance in Brussels, and I also really like some of the albums by his heirs. I recently saw a live DVD of the Rosenberg trio: spectacular. Then I really love Bireli Lagrene who - let’s not forget - recorded an (unmissable) album dedicated to Django when he was a child, Routes to Django (it can still be found at Fnac bundled with another album, Bireli Swing). Finally, I wanted to mention something that came to mind while reading. Does anyone remember when Woody Allen in the film "Deconstructing Harry" had to choose a name for a child? The suggestions were all tied to the director's passions, and of course, "Django" was among them :)

Really beautiful both the choice and the review einstein. I read it with pleasure. I’m not familiar with this work, but I’ve had the chance to hear others, and I have to say that I find some of the descriptions you propose really spot on for his music, especially when you talk about "musica bianca" and the "suprema importanza del vuoto." I’ve felt that last value very strongly as well, and I’ve found it in other composers; above all, I think of Giya Kancheli, who sometimes seems to use silence as... a "contraltare musicale" [but try explaining that :))]. Bye :)

How beautiful "Still Life with Saxophone Case"... not as they were but as I imagine them. A book always within reach. I was reading the article you mentioned, all very interesting, as well as the review and the proposal. Welcome Paolo :)
