Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan Ballad Of The Broken Seas

I am really enjoying it for certain rarefied, subtle atmospheres that contrast with a certain barely hinted roughness.

Think that the precarious balance is what I love the most about the fifth ;)

Musically, I don't share the opinion that Anime Salve is entirely his. So let's not kid ourselves ;) In some songs, his imprint is evident (Anime Salve, Smisurata Preghiera), while in others, there's more Faber (Le acciughe fanno il pallone, disamistade, ho visto nina volare). Others still see contributions from both in equal measure (Dolcenera). In the end, for me, it's an album that belongs to both of them.

For now, listening to this album has left me with mixed impressions. Lights and shadows. I'm struggling to grasp the whole (if there is one); some tracks are more convincing than others, while certain songs are gems (notably "La cinese," which is beautiful, provocative, and Brechtian), others slip by without making an impact, at least for now. "Cara democrazia" deserves a paragraph of its own. It is definitely sharp in its music, but this angry disappointment doesn’t really convince me, to be honest. In short, I want to "digest" it better.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Concerti per pianoforte K 466 e K 482

A few weeks ago, I heard a program on Radio Tre dedicated to Mozart's piano concertos, and they were discussing the "ante litteram" romanticism present in some of them. However, it seems inappropriate to talk about pomposity when it comes to Mozart's music; rather, there is a prevailing sense of measure, while the emphasis is subtle... I don't know, I don't see the adjective "pomposo" fitting very well. Grass, you know I also love the concerto for two pianos and orchestra, right? In the meantime, I'm looking forward to the Requiem and, for the future, I’ll reserve the horn concertos, bai bai :)

Gustav Mahler Sinfonia n°4

You know Senmayan, I can't hierarchically think of Mahler's music, or at least I have a lot of difficulty ranking them. I love the fifth just as much as the fourth, the sixth, the seventh, and so on... Anyway, it came to my mind that in an Allen film, the fourth symphony was a means of seduction, so to speak, but now I don't quite remember which one it was... maybe it was "Everyone Says I Love You"? In that case, I have an excuse to watch it again :)
