Cassandra Wilson Thunderbird

It kept me company in the car these days, along with other things; for now, it seems less inspired than in the past. I need to erase the memory of past listens, but I still enjoyed it enough.
Cristiano De Andrè Scaramante

I had heard something about Cristiano's problems too, more details that are perhaps better left unsaid. Musically, he carries a surname that is a burden; too bad because he is an excellent multi-instrumentalist, and this album proves it. It's really well played, but there's always the feeling that something is missing, though perhaps it's just a prejudice—if he had a different surname, he might receive more acclaim.

Take it, Paolo, and let me know ... of course, there’s always a review missing just for Piazzolla ... maybe Tango Zero Hour ... we’ll have to think about it :)
Richard Galliano New York Tango
Voto:
If I had to grade my covers, the ratings for Galliano would hardly be low. However, there's a certain something about it that makes me like it even more. After that, I would probably put "french touch" and definitely "piazzolla forever," and I wouldn't forget that little gem which is "passatori," at least for that beautiful version of oblivion... bye :)
Ralph Towner Time Line
Voto:
I’ve listened to something by Towner in the past, but this time I was a bit disappointed. Yes, it’s certainly a nice record, but it left me quite indifferent. Not to fall too much in love with this first impression and knowing a bit of his music, for now, I’ve set it aside; sometimes it just depends on the moment of listening. Therefore, I’ll postpone the rating for the record, which today might be a solid three, hoping that subsequent listens will prove me wrong about this first impression. Bye.

I knew that many debasers had seen this concert, so I had to specify that what I wrote applied "at least for me"... I had to make do with the record, which, as you can see, I liked quite a bit. The samples were included in homage to the well-known campaign, sorry for the delay, but at least here there’s no rush :)) hi and thanks.

Sorry for the delay, but it was a terrible week; fortunately, it’s over now... dear ::kosmo::, I completely understand so :)) let’s get to the point... how I discovered this work is the first question from ::alfo::... well, loving John Surman's saxophone immeasurably (which deserves a discussion of its own) one day I found him on a Brahem record (Thimar), so I traced back through his history rediscovering the records of his past (all those mentioned here), and since then, I pay attention to his releases; this one seems to be from April. I confirm the sense of ethereal hypnosis that is also confirmed by those who have listened to it, like ::odradek:: and ::lello::, and I included some samples to verify it. But what I like most about these records, echoing the words of ::pacino::, is the idea of the meeting between cultures that have the same god but often it’s just one more reason to fight when instead, by dialoguing, they could offer so much more. To ::josi::, I say it’s worth it and it’s less difficult than it may seem to approach this music. The question mark after the word jazz from ::punisher:: I believe is correct; it’s not jazz, it could be, but it’s not. @ ::symbad::, I know Satta Salis for common roots, another beautiful world, but this one isn’t bad either :) @ ::paolo::, enchanting is an appropriate adjective for his music; I resonate with it. @ ::Festwca:: it’s like Kurz said about the lute; it has the shape of an almond and the only difference from the Renaissance one is the absence of frets. Maybe listen to the samples to see if it appeals to you. ::Kurz::, we talked about it in chat a long time ago, and I remembered the doubts (I also have a fairly good memory), but I wrote this review hoping to change your mind ;) Hello everyone, and thank you for stopping by here :)

Just imagine that this is his most beautiful album for me, and I still don't agree with this constant comparison to Waits, which I believe comes only from the presence of Ribot. Different viewpoints, of course, but also pay attention to the lyrics, bye :)

Sending someone to hell may not be a unit of measurement, but dissenting or satirizing certainly is, and for a few years some dissenters (so to speak) did not have the opportunity to do so except from the stages of theaters or newspapers... I believe that dissent is a significant part of democracy; for example, at this moment I disagree with Maurizio Testi's comment on this page, and I think it’s unnecessary to explain why. Best regards and happy April 25th to everyone.
