I had taken on Ver Tanzt at the time partly because I like klezmer and partly because I was curious to see the approach of these Canadians from Constellation towards this music. In fact, I found it curious and interesting (not to mention disconcerting) that from the same lineage as godspeed you black emperor and Silver Mt. Zion came this project. The album I listened to was quite unsettling in its beauty, in some ways unusual. I had no idea of its existence... just a moment of distraction... ;)

"Thanks to life... that has given me so much..." by Violeta Parra is a wonderful song that I've listened to obsessively in recent months in the version by Yasmin Levy. I leave it as a listening recommendation. Detailed and dense review as usual. Bye :)

The album is simply titled Bebo odradek and I really like it. If I have time and motivation, maybe I’ll write a couple of lines, but we should also talk about that wonderful album he recorded with Diego Cigala a couple of years ago called Lagrimas Negras, which I highly recommend you listen to if you don’t have it. Bye :)

But I don’t know Antonio, the 5 of the previous defaults was for our Grasshopper. I'm listening to Molvær today, alternating it with Bebo Valdes (this one is truly magnificent and is becoming my album of the month). I can tell you that it’s a good album, but at first glance, I wouldn’t say it shows any breakthroughs; it seems to me the same steps, which isn't necessarily a flaw. For now, I like it quite a bit, especially the concluding phase of the album, which seems less predictable than the beginning... but let's talk about it again, I wouldn’t want to take up this page diverging from Jarrett ;)

It didn't go well, Odradek... but tonight I ordered it; it will arrive next week. The samples won me over! In the meantime, to console myself, I'm enjoying Bebo Valdés (what an album, Odradek, what a beautiful album). Bye :)

As always attentive to every nuance, symbad, keeping up with you isn’t easy; you are a musical volcano that continuously erupts with incredibly interesting proposals. I still haven’t finished exploring what you’re allowing me to discover. On that note, today I also want to thank you for a divine and dynamic Pieranunzi that I listened to last night :)
Dmitri Shostakovich Sinfonia n° 7 "Leningrado"

Exhaustive and interesting as always, Grasshopper. This review allows me to leave a nice reading recommendation on the topic; I’m referring to Salomon Volkov's essay titled "San Pietroburgo," a wonderful book that intertwines the history, literature, architecture, poetry, cinema, and of course, music of this beautiful city. Achmàtova, Blok, Dostoévskij are not lacking, but we also find pages dedicated to Shostakovich included in a fascinating contextual analysis. A must-read while listening to records like this. Bye :)
