I listened to the album in a hurry... I really like the others, even though, as you mentioned, they differ quite a bit from this one... Okkervil River and Bright Eyes are my favorites of the last 7-8 years in this musical trend "alternative-folk" (forgive me for using the term...)

I agree with everything you've said.. the Wipers are one of the most important indie bands (if not the most important) of the entire 80s, especially regarding the influence they had in the following 90s.. misunderstood and appreciated over time like many others (think of the Meat Puppets).

I only rate the review... don’t make me feel heavy about it... but this group was my first confirmation of the disdain I have for these music genres... everyone has their own tastes after all...
