In fact, there is no connection. The quotes in question are used as similes. I could have found others, but these are the first that came to mind to represent Enya's tendency to endlessly hammer on the same note. The one about tanning, then, is just a simple joke, considering Enya's complexion.

@there: Only two? I really thought I had mentioned Him three times, more or less indirectly. After all, this Man is everywhere, possesses everything, keeps expressing Himself continuously (with results that everyone can appreciate) and especially influences our lives more than we realize. The fragmentation was meant to make reading easier. Remembering the vast piles of text sent back in the days when debaser did not allow formatting during writing, I must have put too many dividing lines between the sentences. I apologize.

Like the Judge, I also know little more than the singles (Time after Time above all), but I read this review in one breath, so genuine and touching that it made me want to delve deeper into the subject, even though the reason for the global success of "Girls just want to have fun" remains a mystery to me.
