Bill Evans Stan Getz But Beautiful
Voto:
P.P.S. How "cryptic" debaser has become these days: to find a review and be able to comment on it, you have to make the rounds of the seven churches.

P.S. Pollini is absolutely right, but I fear that his appeal is increasingly destined to fall on deaf ears: Quality scares some, while others don’t even make an effort to seek it out. "Beethoven's Ninth?" "Beautiful but IMPRESSIVE. I’ll listen to it EVERY NOW AND THEN..." said a colleague who had asked to borrow it out of curiosity. And what about all the other days? What kind of question is that: the "legendary" Liga is fine, or the other "legendary" Vasco, or more generally whatever's playing on the radio. Even if it’s garbage? But hey, it’s just for some background noise to keep you company in the car... Try reasoning with people like that, if you can.

Such a record couldn't have fallen into better hands, in every sense.
Cannonball Adderley Money In The Pocket
Voto:
Absolutely a must-know. Someone had recommended it to me as well, but after this review, I have no more doubts.

Something tells me that somehow I will have to fill this Methenian gap as well. Who knows who will be able to help me... In the meantime, I’ll savor this excellent review, technical yet passionate.
Genesis A trick of the tail

Degregorius, you surprise me. Fans of De Gregori (of which I am also a part, although not to a pathological level) usually admire their idol, and thus somewhat assimilate both intelligence and calmness. Traits of which there is not a trace in your intervention.
Fabrizio De André In Direzione Ostinata E Contraria 2
Voto:
This blooming of double and triple CDs by the best singer-songwriters, most of whom are still alive and active, feels very much like a tombstone prematurely placed on their careers (and at least in the case of De Gregori and Fossati, this could have really been avoided). In this specific case, unfortunately, it does not depend on the author, but from what I know about him, I am sure that the only thing he would have approved of in these collections (first and second) is the title, which is somewhat the essence of "Anime salve" and all of his art. A questionable commercial operation and quite a cash grab, while the review is analytical, precise, and comprehensive. I won’t rate the collection for the reasons that Iside explained.
Paolo Conte Paolo Conte
Voto:
Acidic and clumsy, both the first and the second album by Paolo Conte. Just like that, and yet already full of a brilliant inventiveness that from "Un gelato al limon" onwards will find more elegant and pleasant expressions. A particularly fitting definition, as I would say the entire review is. I wonder what makes Iside cry out for a miracle: Conte, no; Fossati, neither; De Gregori, not too much; Guccini even less... Let's hope at least De André is saved.
Keith Jarrett Personal Mountains
Voto:
For a Jarrettian like me, it's serious, but I'm not familiar with the album. However, I see that the quartet is the same as "Belonging," an album that enchants me and that I reviewed in its time, so it will surely be excellent. Bubu7 is getting better and better: after Weber, another confirmation.
Gianmaria Testa Da Questa Parte Del Mare

Caught up in the more virtual than real clash between Piedmont and Tuscany, we were forgetting the "macroregion" of Veneto + Friuli + Trentino Alto Adige, a true wine powerhouse, especially when considered as a whole. Luckily, the good tom traubert, with a Waits-esque nickname and therefore presumably not insensible to the charm of good drinking, reminded us of it. After all, he is right to be ecumenical, since some remarkable wines can be found in almost every Italian region, perhaps except for Molise, but only because it’s too small (just nearby there are some Montepulciano d'Abruzzo that, as "battle wines," meaning they are perfect for meals, are excellent and won't break the bank).
