Dire Straits Making Movies

Damn... you're "taking away" all the reviews of Dire Straits! However, this one is great and detailed (just how I like it, despite those who write telegrams). The only thing I don't understand is the 3, which seems inconsistent with the very positive judgment. I see it as a partial "commercial" turn for M.K. and the guys, but still an excellent album. Of course, the first two are something else entirely.

H. (Hal, I suppose) I leave you Mahler except for the Second, the Fifth, the Sixth, and Das Lied Von der Erde. Do you agree? (I don't think so)

I shamelessly love this woman (probably even now that she's over 60), but I don’t know this concert (I imagine it’s a DVD, and I’m one of the few people in the world who still doesn’t own a player). Serious: I’ll remedy that. The review, as usual, is not really a review, but as always it’s brilliant, and a true pleasure to read.

Aeneas, I replied to you, but I lost track of the response. I hope it arrived (momentarily I am disconnected from the world, and therefore also from Debaser, due to technical issues.

Everything is clear, Holden: then the 2 is fine too, if you don't like the review (that would be something). The fact is that it was associated with the reprimand of those who shot at Capossela, and I'm not one of them.

Holden, but who are you scolding (and giving a 2) ? Did you even read a little bit of the review ? Right in the first lines, it says that Vinicio has finally found his identity (and since the Ballo di San Vito, which is from '97. Just think about Canzoni a manovella... So the 2 is for the subsequent comments, but in that case, what the hell do I have to do with it ?

Aeneas, I just finalized your textbook review, so much so that I still remember it. Now I'm going to reread it, and (what do I see?) I gave you a miserable 4 for a trivial mistake that was just a typo... as if I were "Terminator" El Guevo, who always takes away 2 points compared to others. Sometimes we are really contradictory. I apologize, even if it's late.

Oh Aeneas, if we turn to classical and lyrical music, the possibilities for expansion are virtually infinite. For now, there are only a few examples (including your textbook review of Madama Butterfly, by Puccini for those who don’t know). Just think that between symphonic, lyrical, and sacred music, I would have an abundance of about a thousand records to review. Problems. One is practical: finding the covers. The other is more serious: there’s a risk that an influx of classical music reviews could create a backlash and that no one would read them. However, trying to sneak in a few every now and then wouldn’t be a bad idea. I still haven’t had the courage, yet it is the genre I listen to the most.

It's true, but maybe I expressed myself poorly... my admiration for those who review, sometimes excellently, the latest albums is immense and remains so, also because, among other things, it often provides me with tips for new discoveries. However, I prefer to stay in my niche and continue doing what I do best: the antiquarian of Debaser.

Dear rickyfrusciante, sometimes I also get told: "Wake up, we are in 2005," but the important thing is not to get discouraged and to follow the path that seems most appropriate to us. Besides, if I were to start talking about the "current trends," I wouldn't know what to say, and moreover, I would risk saying completely useless things, since perhaps in a few months these "trends" will have vanished into thin air. The classics provide many more insights for a review, and also for subsequent discussions. By the way, I also adjust my rating to 5: earlier I was influenced by the reviewer’s score (but are Riccardo and rickyfrusciante the same person?)
