Beatles Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

Scaruffi says something very simple: rock is courage and the Beatles were not at all one of the most courageous bands of the 60s. They received ideas and inventions from others to present them to a wide audience in a more conventional form. That's how it is.

From a critical standpoint, it deserves 3 points, but honestly, I've never liked it; I prefer the Magical Mystery Tour even though paradoxically it might have been a collection of leftovers and certainly the result is less coherent than this. Underrated. Scaruffi is right about many things regarding the Beatles.

But what genius, I hope you're joking. The Beatles were fundamentally a pop band that recycled and reinterpreted other people's ideas in a more accessible form, that's what the Beatles were, deal with it. However, this is a decent record, which certainly deserves credit for being varied and enjoyable. One of those to listen to by the Beatles.
Pere Ubu Why I Hate Women

Good album, nothing particularly surprising for those who have been following them for a while, but the talent and flair of Ubu shine through here and there, and the result is truly good. Some lapses, but also several intriguing pieces of great compositional quality.

Taurus is probably the mother of several songs. Certainly, Jimmy Page was inspired by it to write Stairway To Heaven, which is not a discredit to Page, but rather a credit, because taking inspiration from the beautiful Taurus to then create the supreme masterpiece Stairway To Heaven can only be worthy of praise. Certainly, Le Vibrazioni with Dedicato A Te tried to imitate it, and Noel Gallagher drew upon its atmosphere to arrange The Masterplan (in turn, Dedicato A Te resembles The Masterplan), but I also believe Radiohead owe it something, even though I can't remember in which song... but I'm sure of it.

Magnificent album. Hyper-talented band.

Immense band. Whoever wrote that they can't sing should be hanged by the balls because it means they have no idea what rock is and its history.

Like any true artist, Thomas is better when he performs his art than when he talks about it. I don't think he's completely tone-deaf; perhaps not suited for singing like the Platters, but it’s clear that he has intentionally exaggerated this inability to keep melodies perfectly, in short, he has turned a small flaw into a virtue. His way of singing is hysterical and expressionistic, which perfectly fits with the music of the Ubu. It’s unthinkable that if he had perfect pitch, he would sing over that music like Elvis. He says this to play a little with his image. IMMENSE record!

The only possible comment: mouth agape.
