Seventeen years after the release of the last disappointing LP Santa Rabbia, dedicated to James Hetfield's sick dog, Metallica are back with a vengeance with this new album, aptly titled "The New Album by Metallica." Let’s take a closer look at the elements that influenced the songwriting.
In the pre-production phase, the band wrote 245,789 pieces. Of these, only 111 will make it onto the new album. This is why the band has already recorded a whopping 20,898,907 hours of music in the studio. In September 2005, the band returned to the studio... and spent 6 months playing pinball, getting absolutely nothing done.
