Carmen Consoli Un Sorso in Più

No no no... it's not a matter of language to interpret, it's a matter of language that SOUNDS BAD. That's all. Regardless of what is being said, the themes discussed, which I sometimes find interesting, it’s about HOW IT’S SAID.
I keep repeating that in terms of the musicality of the lyrics, GAZZE'-CONSOLI 4-0. A clear result.

Kosmo! What a pleasure to see you again as a "guest" in my reviews. Look, it's a cult record (actually a compilation) that definitely deserves to be purchased.
R.E.M. Out Of Time
Voto:
It's the album that launched them into orbit, but it’s definitely not the best. In high school, for me, R.E.M. were a sort of totem to idolize. I considered "Automatic For The People" the best of the Warner era, and "Document" from the I.R.S. period. Now, with a few more years and much more awareness, I believe "Green" from the "majors" and "Murmur" are the best, not only of I.R.S., but of their entire discography. In my opinion, the only one that's truly unmissable. Certainly, this is a good album, but it sounds too "radio-friendly," and this, in the long run, causes a certain annoyance. It’s clear that if someone wants to start listening to R.E.M., they must necessarily go through this.
Ultravox Vienna
Voto:
Hi Bogus! Hehe... I knew you would swing by this way. I believe the critics were wrong anyway. I consider the previous works of Ultravox! "different" from this one but not superior. Maybe only the first self-titled album was a notch above all the rest. (Sometimes, what a difference an exclamation mark can make! By the way, I liked it a lot; it's a pity we lost it along the way, but perhaps commercial needs led to its suppression...).

Let's see if Carmen Consoli has now become an artist? Carmen Consoli does art? ART? Am I understanding this correctly? Did you say ART? Well... this is the typical attitude of someone who gets stuck on things without looking around, and this is evident from how you expressed yourself in the review "I WOULD STILL CONSIDER HER THE GREATEST, I DON'T NEED OBJECTS OF COMPARISON." This is an attitude that calling wrong is an understatement. I used to think this way too, but believe me, and I say this with affection, it's a dead end towards dullness. It's easy to become infatuated with something, and that is part of human nature, fortunately and unfortunately, but look around. If you like female singer-songwriters, there are infinitely superior ones to Carmen Consoli. And they are not Italian. Carmen Consoli can't put together two words that sound good together; her lyrics are lowbrow psychology treatises. Even if she's not that great, Gazzè, for example, is 20 points ahead of her (or her brother, since he often writes the lyrics) and his music is predictable, monotonous, repetitive. Of all her work, I would only save the second album, which doesn’t mean it’s a great album, but it’s the least bad. The state of Italian commercial music is so disgusting that it brings out phenomena (these so-called pseudo-alternative, as you call them) like this. Try to broaden your knowledge, and don’t believe what is presented to you as "alternative." There’s a world out there, truly of great artistic value, that they keep carefully hidden from us, given the level of general idiocy.

Odradek, you know I don't care about the vote, right? I'm serious. I love music and I enjoy exchanging opinions. It was just a joke, imagine that.

Damn Odradek, then a 4 on the review is quite a score! You're stingy, huh? Hehe... Anyway, it's always a pleasure to read your comments. Regarding the album, I would say I would have given it a 3.5, but here the problem is always the same. The rating scale is too narrow. Let's start a petition to change it to tenths!! Let's gather signatures! Anyway, I also love Tuxedomoon. Bye.

The mainstream of the 80s was much better than today's. Just look at "top of the pops" to realize it.
