Finally, I would like to address dear odra. Perhaps it was as you say it was a few years ago. Now I think I have found a balance and a depth of consciousness sufficient for a clearer analysis. The boy doesn't know that I have experienced these situations firsthand, and God knows how much pain they have caused me. And not just ONCE. I don't think anyone in society can consider themselves completely free. But inside me, I am a free man. And no one can ever take this away from me.

Warning, I gladly skip the insults and threats. Period. I lived a year up north, and I don’t deny you have a point. However, don’t you think you might be a bit too involved, being from Salento? It’s right to defend your land, but you can’t do it blindly. I find Kristal’s response much more intelligent, as she didn’t lash out a priori. Does it seem normal to keep a guy waiting down at the entrance and not let him in just because the girls in the university apartment have boyfriends and can’t see males? Does it seem normal to bombard a woman with 23-24 phone calls a day and with surprise checks that even Provenzano wouldn’t expect? Is it normal to label a poor girl with the worst slurs just because she’s going out with a guy in the evening? And on and on with whore, bitch, and so forth... when she’s really doing nothing but something natural. That's it. I’ve lived through these situations firsthand, not learned through hearsay and so on. And I already know you’ll respond by insulting me, saying they acted like this because I’m ugly, an idiot, and a loser. Think what you want. But I assure you, it would have been better in some cases if I had been ugly, an idiot, and a loser. And the answer, if you’re intelligent, you should find it out for yourself. You lashed out over a single aspect of your land that I criticized, but it’s not the only aspect. There are things I appreciate, and one is what Kristal said earlier. I have to agree with her regarding the “natural” contact of summer nights. However, I don’t like this “mindset.” And I confirm that. Finally.

No no, the people from Salento are simply afflicted by provincialism. Moreover, those that you call "carefree and splendid Salento nights" are nothing but a mask for a much sadder reality, made of self-deceptions and unfulfilled lives. It's a matter of consciousness, and where there is bigotry, there is very little consciousness.

This record has never thrilled me much. I find their experiments sometimes a bit childish. I prefer the less pretentious, and perhaps even less beautiful "Crackdown."

Take this Dante. And then also Trust :-)
Francesco De Gregori - Giovanna Marini Il Fischio Del Vapore

No no no... Marini may be good at playing the guitar, but her voice is like a crow. I absolutely do not agree with the judgment on Terra di nessuno, an album that contains two absolute gems like "Pilota di guerra" and "Spalle larghe." Miramare is sufficient for me but not beautiful, and Canzoni d'amore contains some absurd clichés like "Bellamore," which are truly embarrassing. Prendere e lasciare is a good record for me, but if that's a masterpiece, then what are "Bufalo Bill" or "La Pecora"?

They were good, but they never really caught my interest.

This is a strange group, really. You never quite understand where they want to go with things. Maybe they are just a bunch of great unfinished projects.

Well done Burns, I completely agree, I wrote it in my review of "Script Of The Bridge" as well. I really like this album.
