A cornerstone work (along with "Nausicaä" from two years earlier) on which the entire cinematography and the entire artistic thought of Master Miyazaki rests. Captivating, a work without which "Spirited Away" or "Howl's Moving Castle" could not have existed. The first ten minutes are among the most breathtaking in all of animated cinema.
