Nick Drake: Pink Moon
CD Audio Not intrested ★★
On debaser, the most overrated album of all time.
I believe that if Nick Drake hadn’t tragically and prematurely died, the album wouldn’t have had the same "success."
For me, it’s a good album of depressed ballads and nothing more.

Look, in '85 when 'Heaven in a Wild Flower' came out, a rather poorly made anthology of Drake, there was practically no one who paid it any attention (I'm talking about us, barely in our twenties). Were all those who began to cultivate a private and devoted cult, under the shadow of his songs, just stupid?

The history of rock and its kin is filled with people who died prematurely. Could it be that songs like 'Things Behind the Sun' are truly wonderful instead?

I'm not talking about the diehards who started to love him in real-time; I'm talking about today and what I've found in here. This phenomenon, this trend is also applicable to other artists, sometimes negatively, and it's typical of some (not a few) debaser-ioti...

The equation 'I'm depressed - I stay on the sidelines at parties - that's why I listen to certain artists, preferably dead ones' has always existed. The web is just an infinite sounding board for it. However, there is a caveat: one can love people like Nick Drake (I could add about twenty more names) passionately without being on antidepressants.

Everyone has their own beliefs; it's hard to love an artist who departed in '74 or an album released in '72, especially for those born after that. Personally, I consider this album one of the best in the singer-songwriter world, played and recorded (apparently in two days), almost entirely with just an acoustic guitar apart from a hint of piano in the first track (the same name as the album). Overall, it’s a five-star album for me, perhaps because it resonates with my ever-latent cloud of depression that comes and goes, who knows...
