Dire Straits: Brothers in arms

All I need is the beautiful, painful, haunting, immense title track to give this album the highest score...
"...Now the sun's gone to hell
and the moon's riding high..."

    fantastic piece!
  • The title track is a plagiarism of a song by Snowy White.

Wow! I didn't know that. What's it about?
  • The piece is titled 'bird of paradise'

    FUCKING HELL!!!!!! IT'S TRUE!!!!!!!
But how is it possible? It's the same piece, a complete plagiarism!
But why didn't White take Dire Straits to court?
Damn, what a shock! I have to rethink my entire adolescence. I've enjoyed a million times over a fucking plagiarism!
It's something huge! But how did you find out?
  • It's a rumor that's been circulating online for a while. Snowy, being the gentleman he is, I don't think has ever considered suing Knopfler. I find it amusing that Knopfler fans, even in the face of evidence, downplay it and claim that plagiarism doesn't exist, but it's well known that trying to reason with idiots is difficult.

Yes, but this text seems taken from some random power metal piece.
  • My favorite album by the Straits, though they aren't exactly my favorite band. It had just come out when I listened to it thoroughly at the Ricordi in downtown Milan, inside one of their listening booths (smaller than an elevator... such quirky habits in Milan), tightly squeezed with Giuliana, the Milanese girl I was seeing at the time. I must have made quite an impression on her because after that, she married another Pier (Luigi). Given the nature of my musical sensitivity, the success of the first, self-titled Dire Straits, the huge hit of the third album, the Springsteen-esque "Makin' Movies," and the colossal worldwide acclaim of the fifth work "Brothers in Arms" are three joyous mysteries lined up one after the other. I love the first three tracks of this album, one after the other.
