It's a rumor that's been circulating online for a while. Snowy, being the gentleman he is, I don't think has ever considered suing Knopfler. I find it amusing that Knopfler fans, even in the face of evidence, downplay it and claim that plagiarism doesn't exist, but it's well known that trying to reason with idiots is difficult.

My favorite album by the Straits, though they aren't exactly my favorite band. It had just come out when I listened to it thoroughly at the Ricordi in downtown Milan, inside one of their listening booths (smaller than an elevator... such quirky habits in Milan), tightly squeezed with Giuliana, the Milanese girl I was seeing at the time. I must have made quite an impression on her because after that, she married another Pier (Luigi). Given the nature of my musical sensitivity, the success of the first, self-titled Dire Straits, the huge hit of the third album, the Springsteen-esque "Makin' Movies," and the colossal worldwide acclaim of the fifth work "Brothers in Arms" are three joyous mysteries lined up one after the other. I love the first three tracks of this album, one after the other.

The masterpiece by ELO and one of the greatest pop rock albums of all time. Truly inspired melodies for an album that blends pop, rock, and classical music with incredible naturalness, and includes some of the greatest masterpieces by ELO, including the majestic "Mr Blue Sky," the crystalline "Sweet Talking Woman," and the beautiful "Wild West Hero" and "Steppin Out." The track "Concert For A Rainy Day" is worth an entire album. Highly recommended.

A good album, which represents Ivan's commercial comeback after the unfortunate "Cicli E Tricicli" and a return to the themes of the province typical of the singer-songwriter. The song "Maledette Malelingue" can be understood as a continuation of "Pigro" (as confirmed by Ivan himself) due to its critical and sharp lyrics towards gossipers and the self-righteous.
